On our final day at the Dusit Thani Maldives<\/a>, we decided to make the most of the infinity pool and so we got up bright and early! Had breakfast and headed down to the pool.<\/p>\n

The thing is, the snorkelling here is so great that the infinity pool had kinda been overlooked from our end in favour of the more natural sights but it’s not everyday you get to splash around in the largest infinity pool in the Maldives and so we knew we had to rectify that!<\/p>\n

Our challenge for the day was to see how many variations of photos we could possibly take by the pool…<\/p>\n

…as it turns out – quite a lot! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

The weather here all year round is pretty much pool\/beach weather and with nothing else around you for miles, it’s so tempting to just stay in the pool all day! There’s a restaurant right next to it and a bar on the otherside so you never really have to leave if you don’t wanna… \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

After a while though, we were too tempted by the snorkelling and decided to go reef exploring!<\/p>\n

As it turns out, this was a great day for it too! Everything seemed so much clearer today (not sure why) and even the fish seem brighter! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

The thing with snorkelling in the Maldives which I’d never realised before is how you swim over fairly shallow bits and then there’s this drop right into the ocean. The first time I saw this, I was totally gobsmacked.<\/p>\n

As it turns out, this ‘drop’ of the best places to swim in as the amount and variety of fish you see here is incredible!<\/p>\n

It also looks pretty dramatic too!<\/p>\n

Now you can probably see why we gave up that pool-life and the promise of endless cocktails to go snorkelling instead! \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

Along the way, we thought we’d seen a sting ray but didn’t think much of it until we headed back and saw it sat between the coral, perfectly (well kinda) camouflaged!<\/p>\n

The sting ray was definitely not a fan of the attention and scurried off slowly at first and then at a rather surprising speed!<\/p>\n

Eventually, we decided it was time to go get some lunch and get ready for our next adventure in the Maldives…<\/p>\n

We spent the next 30 minutes or so saying goodbye to all the different people we’d met over our stay here and had a really lovely farewell as we left our first amazing Maldivian home<\/a>..<\/p>\n

The island faded away in the distance as we took off and headed towards Male…<\/p>\n

…flying over stunning Maldivian island after island.<\/p>\n

\"Reef<\/a><\/p>\n

Male is the capital city of the Maldives and apparently a hub of activity. We didn’t have time to explore it as we had another boat to catch as soon as we arrived…<\/p>\n

…still nice to see, even from the distance!<\/p>\n

\"Reef<\/a><\/p>\n

Within minutes of landing, we got picked up in our new island boat and jetted off to into the distance…<\/p>\n

… and in 30 short minutes, we started to make out more of what would be the new place we would call home…<\/p>\n
