“A trip to New York is incomplete without a visit to the High Line<\/em>“… or so we’d been told and seeing as we’d never been before, we decided to go check out this claim for itself.<\/p>\n

The High Line starts in the Meatpacking district of Midtown Manhattan<\/a> and carries on to West 34th Street.<\/p>\n

It’s essentially a linear park that runs above street levels and offers a different perspective on New York’s busy streets.<\/p>\n

It’s also a great location for a photo or two.<\/p>\n

\"New<\/a><\/p>\n

People watching from up here definitely takes on a whole new meaning.<\/p>\n

\"New<\/a><\/p>\n

Notice the dog in the photo above?<\/p>\n

Well for almost 5 minutes that dog didn’t move a single muscle (yes, I stared at this for almost 5 minutes) and I originally thought it was some piece of art\/taxidermy to go with the graffiti running down the stairs.<\/p>\n

Once it moved, I kinda realised I’d read far too much into it. Thank goodness I didn’t start spewing some mindless drivel about how “You know, the dog represents the eternal wait for man<\/em>” or  “How it’s reminiscent of Samuel Beckett’s play Waiting for Godot<\/em>“…  (Way to go clueless Science major).<\/p>\n

Though I have to admit, I’m still intrigued about what the dog was doing there and how it even got there! Maybe I could theorise about that instead.<\/p>\n

I instead got distracted by ice cream sandwiches and decided to theorise about I was gonna get at least two into my tummy!<\/p>\n

Walking through the High Line led us to a Lego version of Manhattan – complete with it’s iconic skyscrapers!<\/p>\n

\"New<\/a><\/p>\n

\"New<\/a><\/p>\n

I soon set to work wrecking<\/del> building new pieces.<\/p>\n

The installation was there to be played with by the public and for it to evolve as people build their own pieces and put their own stamps on it.<\/p>\n

\"New<\/a><\/p>\n

Eventually, we decided to carry on seeing more of the High Line which unintentionally led us right into the hive of activity that is New York Fashion Week.<\/p>\n

\"New<\/a><\/p>\n

It’s funny, I’m sure there were loads of celebrities there but the people I recognised were the ones from the internet world! Like Susie Bubble…<\/p>\n

\"New<\/a><\/p>\n

… and Aimee Song (who by the way, is actually really sweet).<\/p>\n

\"New<\/a><\/p>\n

\"New<\/a><\/p>\n

\"New<\/a><\/p>\n

Our walkthrough led us to the Coach installation… (along with dozen of black cars no doubt waiting to ferry the fashionista to the next show)<\/p>\n

\"New<\/a><\/p>\n

\"New<\/a><\/p>\n

\"New<\/a><\/p>\n

All this walking around leads to some serious hunger pangs and so, we decided to listen to our hunger monsters and get an uber back to our hotel in Midtown.<\/p>\n

From here, we went for the lazy option and chose a restaurant two blocks away from the hotel…<\/p>\n

\"New<\/a><\/p>\n

…where it also turns out, bison is on the menu!<\/p>\n

\"New<\/a><\/p>\n

\"New<\/a><\/p>\n

\"New<\/a><\/p>\n

We skipped the bison and went straight for refreshing cocktails…<\/p>\n

\"New<\/a><\/p>\n

… steak salads and fish.<\/p>\n

\"New<\/a><\/p>\n

\"New<\/a><\/p>\n

All served with a bag of rather tasty fries!<\/p>\n

\"New<\/a><\/p>\n

Watered and fed, we trudged back to the hotel where all three of us (Georgia was there with us), may or may not have had a well-earned afternoon nap!<\/p>\n

(If you guessed right, all I’m gonna say is that I blame jetlag). <\/p>\n
