No visit will be complete without seeing some of the stunning works of Antonio Gaud\u00ed in Barcelona. Celebrated across the globe, Gaud\u00ed’s style has heavily influenced Barcelona<\/a>, but also its people and architectural design throughout Spain and the rest of the world. And you can see a handful of his buildings in Barcelona itself!<\/p>\n

Barcelona is an incredible city, with so many things to do<\/a> that you’ll honestly be spoilt for choice. Just make sure to take some time to visit the very special buildings of Gaud\u00ed in Barcelona.<\/p>\n

That’s why I wanted to show you some of the very best buildings of Gaud\u00ed in Barcelona that you should definitely visit. Some will take a good few hours to visit, others, a fleeting moment, whatever the case… just don’t miss them!<\/p>\n

Take a look at some of my very favourite buildings of Gaudi in Barcelona, below.<\/p>\n

1.) Casa Batll\u00f3<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Perched on Paseo de Gracia, Casa Batll\u00f3<\/a> is a short 10-minute walk from Casa Mila. Its eye-catching design and roof are influenced by the skin of a dragon, while the nature-inspired shapes of Casa Batll\u00f3 make this building one of my favourites to see while visiting the city.<\/p>\n

Before you arrive, grab these advance tickets<\/a> so you’re not waiting around unessarily to queue for tickets. You’ll just swan right in with these tickets<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Originally, the building was due to be demolished, then Gaud\u00ed took creative control and totally transformed the building into the modernist dream it is today. It’s one of the most iconic buildings by Gaud\u00ed in Barcelona and also a UNESCO World Heritage site.<\/p>\n

Not only is the hotel absolutely stunning, but it’s right on La Rambla, one of the most popular areas of the city. Best of all, the hotel dates back to the 1800s, and it’s been lovingly restored. 2.) Sagrada Familia <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Although incomplete, Sagrada Familia<\/a> is one of Gaud\u00ed’s lifelong dreams that is still being constructed. Recently given a completion date of 2026, his lifelong project will finally be completed over 100 years after its conception and is one of the most iconic buildings of Gaud\u00ed in Barcelona.<\/p>\n

Although Gaud\u00ed knew that he would never see Sagrada Familia completed in his lifetime, his vision has been maintained to create one of the world’s most celebrated UNESCO World Heritage Sites. <\/p>\n

Oh, and don’t forget to visit the crypt while at the Sagrada Familia. It’s one of the little spots that people often miss.<\/p>\n

Just try to buy these advanced tickets online<\/a> before you visit. This will help you skip many of the long queues, especially on a hot summer day. Honestly, it gets so busy, so plan ahead and grab these tickets<\/a>.<\/p>\n

For a great hotel nearby, pop into the Barcelona EDITION, which has an amazing rooftop area too. Though, book a table in advance, it’s always full. <\/p>\n

3.) Park Guell<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Park G\u00fcell<\/a> is one of Barcelona’s most famous public parks, situated on the edge of Carmel Hill. Its beautiful charm and delightful colourful buildings are a must-see on a sunny Barcelona afternoon.<\/p>\n

Make sure to head across in the mid-afternoon and watch the sun bathe the park in a beautiful glow.<\/p>\n

Oh, and whilst you’re here, make sure to keep your eyes peeled for El <\/em>Drac<\/i> too! It’s the mosaic salamander near the steps. <\/p>\n

Plus, just like most of Gaud\u00ed’s sites in Barcelona, be sure to book these advance tickets<\/a> to get straight in when you arrive. There’s nothing fun about waiting in line, in the blistering sun, for something that could have been done online. <\/p>\n

Casa Mil\u00e0<\/a> was constructed in the early 20th century by Gaud\u00ed. Commissioned by Pere Mil\u00e0 i Camps and his wife Roser Segimon i Artells, this building was actually disliked by most locals during its construction. Thankfully, the city, its people and visitors alike have come to love this most impressive building.<\/p>\n

Again, book these advance Casa Mila ticket<\/a>s before arriving. This way, you can plan your day and see as many of Gaud\u00ed’s key places in Barcelona in one day! <\/p>\n

Once inside, don’t forget to visit the roof terrace around sunset, where you can watch the glow of the sky and the buzz of the city.<\/p>\n

5.) Sagrada Fam\u00edlia Schools<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Based within the grounds of Sagrada Fam\u00edlia, this impressive and shapely building is a great place to explore the history of construction around Gaud\u00ed’s projects.<\/p>\n

Unlike some early 20th-century architects, Gaud\u00ed was caring and passionate about the welfare of his workers, ensuring his staff, their families and children all benefited from his projects, with Sagrada Fam\u00edlia Schools being one of his most impressive.<\/p>\n

6.) Gaudi’s Home <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Technically not built by Gaud\u00ed, his home within Park G\u00fcell is a perfect place to witness the intimate setting and home where Gaud\u00ed lived in the early part of the twentieth century.<\/p>\n

Now a museum costing around \u20ac5-10, it showcases some of Gaud\u00ed’s most influential pieces, his bedroom, study and designs that he cared so much about. It’s a great spot to learn about the history of Gaud\u00ed in Barcelona and his vision.<\/p>\n
