Singapore has a poor reputation when it comes to beaches. For all the flash and pomp the city-state has, with its towering steel and glass towers, beautiful people and amazing food (to mention but a few), it is notorious for having no \u2018really nice\u2019 beaches. There\u2019s perhaps one beach of note in the Sentosa resort world area (where Universal studios is) but even that man-made beach still feels like it\u2019s lacking a certain \u2018something\u2019.<\/p>\n

Well if you love a good beach, them fret not! There\u2019s a brilliant beach you can visit in Singapore, which isn\u2019t even mentioned on the official list of beaches in Singapore on Wikipedia.<\/p>\n

The beach is on Lazarus Island<\/strong> and I don\u2019t even think it has an official \u2018beach name\u2019. It is quite simply referred to as \u2018the beach on Lazarus Island\u2019. Funnily enough, it\u2019s probably easier to get to the beach than it is to actually find any information on the beach online.<\/p>\n

HOW TO GET THERE?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Get a ferry from Marina South Pier (cost SGD$18 \/ \u00a39 \/ $14 \/ \u20ac12 ) to St John\u2019s Island and then walk over from St John\u2019s Island to the beach (a fairly short 5 \u2013 10 minutes walk)<\/p>\n

WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED TO KNOW?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The beach is like one of those secrets that only the locals in Singapore know about and so it\u2019s never crowded (I\u2019d been a few times when living in Singapore and it was never overcrowded). On the flipside, you need to bring everything with you to the island\u2013 even water! Actually, especially water!!! The islands aren\u2019t built to cater to tourists so you need to sort your stuff out yourself before you arrive. Also, don\u2019t forget the sunscreen \u2013 it get pretty hot here which quite frankly, makes it perfect beach weather!<\/p>\n
