Permit me to skip about half a day of our Nordics4 48 hour challenge<\/a> to walk you through the brilliant Finnish city of Helsinki. Needless to say, I will go back and let you know what we got up to in the night after our evening of ‘treasure hunting’ in Helsinki<\/a> but I just got too impatient to wait any longer to show you these photos.<\/p>\n

Helsinki is such a great city and even more so when the sun is shining like it did the very next morning.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, we had a little bit of time to spare before the next stop on our Nordic 48-hour challenge so we hot-footed it (and by that, I mean we caught the tram) from our hotel –Hotel Scandic Paasi<\/a> right into the city centre – i.e. Helsinki Cathedral (which became a symbol of sorts to us that we were smack in the centre). In retrospect, I’m not sure why we took the tram – it was a very short 8-minute walk from the hotel (4 minutes if you walk like Lloyd) but hey ho…<\/p>\n
