Yes, Manly is the name of a real place and the inspiration behind it is because of Capt. Arthur Phillip.<\/p>\n

Yes, I don’t really know who he is either. though apparently (we were told) the locals looked quite manly and so he thought the name apt.<\/p>\n

\"An<\/a><\/p>\n

To get to Manly from the city centre of Sydney, you catch a ferry which takes about 30 mins to get there.<\/p>\n

There are other options like a taxi (very expensive option), buses or perhaps even walking (while I assume you can walk unless you are looking to develop bionic thighs and a butt of steel, I would not recommend it).<\/p>\n

The ferry is the nicest option in any case as you get a very different view of the city that you probably can’t get any other way.<\/p>\n

In any case, we caught the ferry from Circular Quay (the main terminal near the Opera House and Harbour) to Manly Wharf.<\/p>\n

The view of the city as we departed were pretty good – especially as we were blessed with more blue skies than feathers on a goose!<\/p>\n

Even the bits with clouds overhead just looked dramatic in contrast to the blue skies in the background…<\/p>\n

It was winter but as you can see, everyone’s still out on their boats and having fun! If there’s something Australia is blessed with, it’s definitely great weather.<\/p>\n

I feel it’s so much easier to stay fit here as the weather lets you get out more. That’s my excuse for the “winter weight” I’ve been putting on lately anyway.<\/p>\n

Soon enough, we arrived at Manly Wharf…<\/p>\n

\"An<\/a><\/p>\n

First thing we did (after finding our friends who had literally just moved to Sydney on the same day. <\/p>\n

Talk about a fantastic coincidence!<\/p>\n

The beaches here are pretty great, too.<\/p>\n

\"An<\/a><\/p>\n

Like their weather wasn’t good enough, everyone has access to beaches like this all year round.<\/p>\n

\"An<\/a><\/p>\n

Finally we headed back to the town to get something to explore it some more and get something to eat! <\/p>\n

As we were by the seaside, seafood was a natural option obviously! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

(And pies! I love pies!)<\/p>\n

Finally, we bade Manly a temporary farewell.<\/p>\n

After all, we would be back later that evening but for now, we were going to hop into the car and set off to explore other parts of Sydney<\/a>.<\/p>\n
