You arrive in the hotel after an early morning flight – what the first thing you do?<\/p>\n

Get some sustenance! Upon arrival in Porto, this is exactly what we did –  got my priorities straight you see. Hehehe!<\/p>\n

After wandering around for a bit, we finally found this restaurant on the waterfront and figured it was time to fill up.<\/p>\n

I wanna say that the menu looked amazing (it did) or that the atmosphere seemed lovely (it was) or even that the view was amazing (it was) but I have to admit, the main thing that sold the restaurant to me was the amazing prices of wine.<\/p>\n

Turns out wine in Porto is fairly cheap (which figures really) but this was the first place we’d stopped at that had the prices on display without having to rummage too hard through the menu and in second, we grabbed some seats and tucked in!<\/p>\n

We both got lobster based meals – I had a lobster pasta thing – I’m not keen on lobster and pasta (I’ll have lobster with almost anything else!) so this didn’t work out in my favour.<\/p>\n

That being said, it was still tasty and the starters, rich red wine and dessert more than made up for it.<\/p>\n

After lunch, we took a trip up to the top of the city to get a proper bird’s eye view of Porto.<\/p>\n

Porto is such an amazing mish-mash of colours and buildings with distinct characteristics and I very easily settled into this holiday and fell in love with the city (maybe it’s the wine that did it – I wouldn’t be the first person to succumb to the charm of wine).<\/p>\n

This being my first time in Portugal, I was very pleased with how quickly I settled into the swing of things and this made my choice to visit Portugal again, albeit Lisbon, so very easy!<\/p>\n
