The lengths we will go to look for beaches, eh?<\/p>\n

Like I said in the previous post, looking for great beaches in Singapore<\/a> has been a bit of struggle however due to some time-staking research, I finally found what is apparently Singapore’s best-kept secret! What is this I hear you ask?<\/p>\n

Lazarus Island Beach!<\/p>\n

Okay, the beach goes across two Islands (Lazarus Island and Seringat Island) and is absolutely amazing.<\/p>\n

Thanks to how relatively unknown it is compared to other beaches on the mainland (the best of which is on Sentosa Island) there weren’t that many people on the beach itself and so it was quite easy to carve out your own little private haven on the beach.<\/p>\n

How to get to the islands in Singapore<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Get a ferry from Marina South Pier (cost around SGD$20-30) which will give you access to all the Islands.<\/p>\n

Sunday is a better day to visit than Saturday due to the timings of the ferry.<\/p>\n

You can also rent private yachts to visit the beach (which isn’t that expensive if there are a decent-sized group of you and your friends).<\/p>\n

Tips to visit the islands<\/strong><\/h3>\n

1.) Take food and drinks with you<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Don’t forget your sunscreen, anti-mosquito sprays (not that there were any there but better safe than sorry), towels, beach mats, parasols (if you have any) – effectively anything you want\/need – take it there with you.<\/p>\n

There is nothing on the island (except tables, chairs and a few huts).<\/p>\n

2.) Plan your ferry timings in advance<\/strong><\/h3>\n

3 out of 4 of the islands can be walked to via connecting bridges but Kusu is slightly out of the way so you will need a ferry to get there. (The ferry arrives and starts boarding usually around 20 minutes before departure).<\/p>\n

3.) Don’t play with the monkeys on Kusu Island<\/strong><\/h3>\n

I tried to feed one of them – well actually, I tried taking a photo of one and it suddenly got a bit mental and started growling and charging at me.<\/p>\n

I ran in the opposite direction and of course, it kept chasing me… I looked back while running thinking it had stopped but oh no, this monkey was going for gold.<\/p>\n

You can just imagine my panic-stricken face as I ran. I have been told I screamed like a little girl but I have no recollection of this… \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

I do however remember laughing (rather loudly) when it did the same thing to an unsuspecting family who ventured a little too close to it later on…<\/p>\n
