If you been living in NYC for some time, you know it’s always nice to getaway out of the city from time to time. Here are the best weekend getaways from NYC that are less than a 5-hour drive<\/strong>. Most of these destinations require renting a car, but some you can reach via public transport. <\/p>\n

If you do decide to rent a car, be sure to secure your car in advance for the best pricing and availability. I had great service at Enterprise rentals in Manhattan for renting a car for a weekend. <\/p>\n

And if you are up for some adventure, drive north an hour from Lake George for the Indian Head and Rainbow Falls hike<\/strong>. This 11-mile hike will leave with you stunning views of the region!<\/p>\n

Stay: in Montauk, the furthest town on Long Island at either of the Gurney’s resorts<\/a>. Modern rooms right on the water, plus awesome food and drink options will make you want to say even longer than planned. <\/p>\n
