If you live in New York City, the chances that you actually “vacationed” in NYC are pretty slim. New Yorkers don’t venture out of their neighborhoods much. If you live downtown, going uptown is not something on your to-do list, and vise versa for those living uptown. <\/p>\n

However, there is so much to see when you finally venture out of your neighborhood, and it makes NYC an awesome place to staycation! Whether you need some R& R or you want to fully getaway, I have you covered in this list.<\/p>\n

Here are some staycation in NYC<\/strong> ideas by neighborhood. Plus places to eat and things to do when you are there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Staycation Tip<\/em><\/strong>: Book your hotel in a completely different neighborhood from where you live. It will make your experience more relaxing. If you know the neighborhood, you won’t get to experience new things to do, restaurants, etc! <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Do:<\/strong> Walkthrough Madison Square Park just a few blocks from the hotel. Grab drinks on the Mondrian Terrace for views and sunsets. And while you are staycationing, why not do something you would never do like get the best view in the house at the top of the Empire State Building or Top of the Rock. <\/p>\n

Be sure to book a “runway view” room to watch airplanes take off and land throughout your stay! <\/p>\n

Eat:<\/strong> Until indoor dining is open again in NYC, Connie, the cocktail bar inside the 1958 airplane and the Paris Cafe by Jean Georges remain closed. Head to the rooftop for the best food options. The menu includes shrimp tacos to gourmet burgers. <\/p>\n

Do:<\/strong> The best way to spend your day is at the rooftop pool<\/strong> where you can watch planes all day long, all the while sipping on cocktails. <\/p>\n
