1. Sarakiniko Beach, Milos<\/h2>\n

My all-time favorite beach in Milos is Sarakiniko Beach<\/strong>. It was unlike anything I have seen before, and I couldn’t help but go back while visiting this beautiful island. To clarify this “beach” isn’t the most ideal place to layout and relax on because it is hard, and not made of up sand.<\/p>\n

Sarakiniko is made up of volcanic rock which creates this moon-like atmosphere. However, it did not stop people from setting up their towels to layout!<\/p>\n

How to Get to Sarakiniko Beach<\/h3>\n

Getting to Sarakiniko is straightforward as there are signs leading up to the Sarakiniko parking lot, which offers plenty of parking space. I did not have trouble finding a spot in September.<\/p>\n

After parking in the lot, you’ll have to walk a tiny bit to reach the beach area. Be sure to really explore around! It wasn’t until my second time visiting that I noticed I missed a whole other side of the beach.<\/p>\n

I enjoyed visiting this beach during the mid-day, and coming back again to watch the sunset that offered amazing hues on the rocks!<\/p>\n

2. Papafragas Beach, Milos<\/h2>\n

Papafragas is located on the North Side of the island and is in close proximity to Sarakiniko Beach. You could definitely visit these two beaches in the same day if you are short on time. There are two areas to check out when you are visiting Papafragas beach.<\/p>\n

One area is sandy and offers a small place to layout, while the other side has an impressive cliff where the daredevil in you can jump from, or in my case just view. Each side has designated parking spots, but you could easily walk from one side to the other.<\/p>\n

Papafragas is definitely worth a stop for photos, but if I had to choose a beach to hang out all day in, I would pick some of the other beaches.<\/p>\n

Update 2021:<\/strong><\/em> One of the parking lots to this beach is gated closed! There is still one parking lot open, but you can just park along the road here and walk to both sides of the beach. <\/p>\n

3. Mandrakia Beach<\/h2>\n

Mandrakia is such a picturesque gem. Situated on the north side of the island, Mandrakia is a small fisherman’s village with charming boathouses I could not get enough photos of!<\/p>\n

While there is no sand to layout in Mandrakia, the area itself is so beautiful it is worth a stop. If you are hungry, Mandrakia is home to my favorite restaurant in Greece M<\/a>edusa<\/a>. Be sure to get there early for lunch as tables get filled quickly!<\/p>\n
