Jersey has a lot going for it, especially with it being the biggest island within the Channel Islands. From castles to coves, there’s a heap of gorgeous spots and loads of the best things to do in Jersey dotted all across the island.<\/p>\n

With a mix of British and French influences, Jersey has a unique charm that’s totally epic for a long weekend (or even longer) break. It’s the kind of island that’s teeming with natural beauty but also mountains of history that makes it so much fun to explore.<\/p>\n

Plus, you’ve got the stunning island of Guernsey<\/a> not too far away, too! <\/p>\n

Oh, and you’ve also worth remembering that Jersey is one of the most southerly points in the British Isles. This means it’s that little bit warmer than most other spots in Great Britain. This means it’s great for a summer break if you’re wanting a little warmer weather, all without travelling far at all! <\/p>\n

1.) Jersey’s rugged north coast <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Afterwards, you can explore the north coast of Jersey, which is known for its rugged cliffs and breathtaking scenery. <\/span><\/p>\n

Explore the island\u2019s diverse landscape by hiking the various fern-bordered trails (like the northern loop) that take in some of the best spots on the shore. Though, don’t forget that the full loop is upwards of 20-miles! If you don’t feel up to a mammoth hike, take bitesize sections or just explore the Sorel Point<\/a> to Devil’s Hole trail instead. <\/span><\/p>\n

Also, to the north-west, you’ll be able to stop off at prehistoric sites, such as the Le Couperon Dolmen<\/a>. Although quite small, it’s well worth seeing, especially as it dates back thousands of years. Plus, you’ve got some gorgeous views from this area of Jersey. <\/p>\n

If it’s the north coast beaches you’re after, then head over to Pl\u00e9mont Beach<\/a> which is gorgeous. Here, you’ll get to chill with the most stunning sandy before visiting the nearby ruins of Grosnez Castle<\/a>.  Plus, you’ll get to see the beautiful views across L’Etacq and St Ouens Bay. <\/p>\n

2.) Mont Orgueil Castle<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Built more than 800 years ago, Mont Orgueil Castle<\/a> overlooks Gorey, a historic little west-coast village that oozes charm. <\/span><\/p>\n

On an island dotted with beaches, all amazing in their own unique way, Beauport Beach<\/a> might be the nicest to visit. Well, in my opinion at least.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nestled in its own secluded bay, the beach itself is accessible by descending the trails (and steps) from the parking area above.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite lacking cafes or facilities, chilling at Beauport Beach is one of the best things to do in Jersey if you’re after a beach day. It’s totally unspoilt and stunning. <\/span><\/p>\n

Afterwards, head to the nearby Oyster Box<\/a> for the tastiest Jersey Rock Oysters with spicy chorizo butter.  <\/p>\n

5.) St Helier<\/strong><\/h3>\n

After visiting Seymour Tower, stop at nearby St. Helier which is one of the best things to do in Jersey if you want a larger town to visit. Well, I say large, it’s still totally small and gorgeous. <\/p>\n

Once here, visit Elizabeth Castle (by ferry) or Jersey Museum & Art Gallery. Both are lovely and well worth a gander whilst on the south coast.<\/p>\n

Actually, speaking of art, don’t forget to visit the Harbour Gallery<\/a>, the largest art gallery in the Channel Islands. <\/span>With a number of unique collections, you can join one of the gallery’s workshops and browse local artists works and crafts. It’s lovely. <\/span><\/p>\n

Oh, and don’t forget to pop into Havre Des Pas, an outdoor tidal pool that’s carved right into the rocks. <\/p>\n

6.) Le Braye<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Right on the west coast, visiting Le Braye is one of the best things to do in Jersey if you want a long stretch of sandy goodness! <\/p>\n

This is a spot that’s great for a day at the beach and you can even test your skills in the surf. You see, the Jersey Surf School<\/a> hosts lessons (and rentals) here – which is great for surfing novices like us! <\/p>\n

Plus, you’ll get some stunning views across to La Rocco Tower in the distance.<\/p>\n

7.) Bonne Nuit<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Bonne Nuit is another one of Jersey\u2019s little coves that deserves its own shout out. <\/span><\/p>\n

Found at the base of a steep hill on the north coast of the island, Bonne Nuit is totally charming. Best explored by foot, you can follow the trails around the shoreline or head to the Bonne Nuit Beach Cafe<\/a> for the tastiest Thai noodles in Jersey. <\/span><\/p>\n

Plus, you can easily partner this with a trip to nearby Fort Leicester, Bouley Bay and the coastline towards Gorey Bay. It’s totally lovely.<\/p>\n

8.) La Hougue Bie Museum<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Set in the tenth oldest building in the world, La Hougue Bie Museum<\/a> takes visitors through one of Europe\u2019s best-preserved passage graves that you can’t miss.<\/span><\/p>\n

Discover the island\u2019s Neolithic history and learn about Jersey\u2019s oldest inhabitants, who lived more than 6,000 years ago.<\/span><\/p>\n

The museum holds geological and archaeological treasures including weapons and coins that shine a light on life thousands of years ago. Trust me, any history buff will love this and it’s easily one of the best things to do in Jersey that you can’t miss. <\/span><\/p>\n

9.) Seymour Tower<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Jersey’s shoreline is totally gorgeous and, if I’m honest, one of the biggest draws to visit this stunning island. Although the inland areas are beautiful, the shoreline is just really special. <\/span><\/p>\n

Seymour Tower and Icho Tower, located on islets 2 miles from shore, are two such locations. <\/span><\/p>\n

Both towers were erected following France\u2019s failed attempts to invade Jersey back in the 1700s. Typically, in good weather, you can get to Seymour Tower once a day (if conditions are safe) and even stay in the tower<\/a> itself! It’s a totally unique experience and great if you’re looking for a little treat. <\/span><\/p>\n

Be careful though- stay too long and you\u2019ll be trapped until the next time the tide goes out!<\/span><\/p>\n

10.) Gr\u00e8ve de Lecq<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Another north coast favourite, visiting Gr\u00e8ve de Lecq bay and the beach is one of the best things to do in Jersey if you’re based around the north-west coast. On a calm day, this cover is stunning for paddleboarding and a little dip – plus, the sandy beach is just bliss. <\/p>\n

Afterwards, head to Moulin de Lecq<\/a> for some classic pub grub. Once an ancient watermill, you can order traditional cask ales along with a classic pub dinner.<\/span><\/p>\n

Afterwards, take an evening stroll down the Greve de Lecq\u2019s beachside promenade and pier to take in the views.<\/span><\/p>\n

11.) Jersey War Tunnels<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Jersey War Tunnels is one of the most unique wartime museums to see in Jersey. <\/span><\/p>\n

Based out of an old war hospital, which was built using forced labour during the Second World War, the Jersey War Tunnels<\/a> provide insight into life in Jersey under Nazi occupation from 1940- 1945 and well worth a visit. <\/span><\/p>\n

Not too far from St Helier, it’s quite easy to pop here for the morning before heading further north on the island.  <\/p>\n
