London is an epic city! Now, yes – I know I\u2019m always biased (being a Londoner), but our city is totally amazing. We really do have a whole heap of the best neighbourhoods in London… which, I’m sure you’ll love. Honestly, with all their diversity, culture and history, there’s every reason why you’ll find some of the best areas in London to explore on your trip.<\/span><\/p>\n

Anyway, before I ramble on, I wanted to share some of the best neighbourhoods in London that you\u2019ve gotta visit. It doesn\u2019t matter if you\u2019re visiting, just moved to the city, or you’re a Londoner yourself.  <\/span>Take a look at some of the best neighbourhoods in London and the best areas in London that I think you\u2019ll love. <\/span><\/p>\n

A popular haunt in London, the South Bank is one of the best areas in London that\u2019s just perfect for a stroll. <\/span>Wander over from the London Eye, follow the promenade on the bank of the Thames and stop off at all the joints that take your fancy.<\/span><\/p>\n

Not too far from Southbank, Bermondsey Street (and the area around it) is one of my favourite and possibly the best areas in London to visit. <\/span><\/p>\n

Filled with gorgeous little boutiques, independent coffee spots<\/a> (like the Victorian Watchhouse<\/a>) and even a glass-blowing studio where you can test your glass-blowing skills. It\u2019s just gorgeous. <\/span><\/p>\n

Now, although Bermondsey Street isn\u2019t technically its own neighbourhood, it has a very distinct feel that sets it apart from the rest of Central London. It almost has a small-town feel.  <\/span>For a tasty bite to eat, pop into The Garrison Public House and try their yummy British pub grub. <\/span><\/p>\n

Perched in north London, Camden<\/a> is one of the best areas in London to experience our city’s diversity. markets, buzzing streets and an epic art scene, Camden is one of the best neighbourhoods in London that has a totally distinct feel.<\/span><\/p>\n

After all that enjoyment, pop over to the famous Cyber Dog store, which is like no other. Inside, you\u2019ll be greeted by neon lights, pounding music and dancers raving on the roof area.  <\/span>It\u2019s surreal and one of the best areas in London to visit.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fancy staying close by? Check into these rooms at The Standard, London<\/a>. It’s a really cool, fringe-style hotel that has all the vibes of Camden. They also have some amazing restaurants on the upper floors<\/a>, and it’s so worth stopping by for food when you stay here. Plus, it’s right next to King’s Cross and St Pancras Station. This makes it ideal if you’re taking the Eurostar or want easy connections via rail. <\/p>\n

That being said, make sure to stop off at Granger & Co for one of the best brunch menus. Wander through Portobello Market and grab some antiques or flowers from the hundreds of sellers. Oh, and pop in for a pint in the Churchill Arms in summer (when it’s in full bloom).<\/span><\/p>\n

And you know what, Peckham<\/a> is one of the best areas in London to visit if you want an authentic take on how cool our city can be. It really is a bit of a hidden gem for people who don’t live in London.<\/span><\/p>\n

Over recent years, Peckham has come to be a proper haunt for Londoners to enjoy on the weekend or an evening \u2018on the town\u2019. <\/span>Oh, and pop over to the Peckham Levels, which has a whole heap of stalls, foodie spots and bars. <\/span>Afterwards, pop into South London Gallery, too. <\/span><\/p>\n

Oh, and head over to Manze\u2019s<\/a> to try their traditional pie and liquor from their shop. It\u2019s one of the oldest and most renowned pie and liquor brands in all of London.<\/span><\/p>\n

After living in Whitechapel<\/a> for a few years, I\u2019ve come to appreciate it as one of the most diverse and best areas in London to explore. That being said, you do need to know what to actually ‘do’ before you go there. <\/span><\/p>\n

Once here, pop over to the Whitechapel Gallery, which showcases some of the world\u2019s best up-and-coming artists. <\/span><\/p>\n

Afterwards, head over to the Whitechapel Bell Foundry<\/a>, which created Big Ben and the Liberty Bell (in the USA). And finally, pop on a Jack the Ripper tour that takes you back in time to when he roamed the streets.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kings Cross<\/a> is another one of the best areas in London and a place that’s completely transformed over the last decade. <\/span>Now, you can\u2019t go to Kings Cross without seeing Platform 93\/4 (in Kings Cross Station), but there\u2019s so much more to find.<\/span><\/p>\n

After arriving at King’s Cross Station, head out to the Wellcome Collection to see many of the curiosities that were collected by Sir Henry Wellcome over the years.<\/span><\/p>\n

Perched just north of Oxford Street, Fitzrovia is a walkable distance from King’s Cross<\/a> and one of the best areas in London for foodie joints and museums<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Now, the British Museum<\/a> needs little introduction, but it\u2019s a treasure trove of artefacts to explore. The museum itself is totally free, which means it can get really busy at weekends.<\/span><\/p>\n

9.) Covent Garden<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

Probably one of the busiest and best areas in London to visit, Covent Garden<\/a> is well on the trodden path (as one of the best neighbourhoods in London) for almost every visitor.<\/span><\/p>\n

After getting off at Covent Garden or Leicester Square tube stop, head straight over to the little lanes that are filled with independent shops (like Benjamin Pollock’s Toyshop), designers and quirky boutiques that sell everything you can imagine.<\/span><\/p>\n

Afterwards, head over to the market itself and pop inside. Here, you\u2019ll find one of the world\u2019s only shops<\/span> dedicated to the Moomins – it\u2019s as cute as anything! Oh, and don\u2019t forget to book tickets to the Royal Opera House right in the heart of Covent Garden. <\/span>If you\u2019re feeling peckish, pop into the Oysterman, which serves up some of the best seafood in the city. <\/span><\/p>\n

Alternatively, head into Clos Maggiore<\/a> for a yummy French-fusion delight! Just make sure to grab a table in the main atrium (it’s stunning).<\/span><\/p>\n

So, Elephant and Castle is another of the best areas in London that\u2019s really changed in the last 10 years. <\/span><\/p>\n

Now, Elephant and Castle is only around a 20-minute stroll from Borough Market or Big Ben, which makes it easy to get to by bus, tube or your own two feet. <\/span><\/p>\n

Once here, make sure to stop off at the Imperial War Museum<\/a> (which is totally free) across from Lambeth North Underground station. And don\u2019t forget to also see the piece of the Berlin Wall that\u2019s housed outside the museum steps!<\/span><\/p>\n

After all those cocktails, pop over to the Southwark Playhouse<\/a>, which has recently moved to the area. Here, you\u2019ll find more fringe plays than at the National Theatre and a more intimate venue.<\/span><\/p>\n

11.) City of London<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

The City of London is actually one of the best areas in London where the financial district is concentrated. <\/span><\/p>\n

Once here, make sure to explore Tower Bridge, book these Tower of London tickets<\/a> (to see the world\u2019s biggest diamond) and pop over to Duck and Waffle for a tasty bite to eat. Best of all, they\u2019re open 24 hours a day. It\u2019s a great restaurant to visit at sunrise and just watch the sunset after a night out.<\/span><\/p>\n

Just nearby, if you\u2019ve got time, climb the Monument to the Great Fire of London<\/a>. Tickets are reasonably priced for London, and it\u2019s a spot most visitors don\u2019t always consider seeing. It’s a pretty unique view of the city, too.<\/span><\/p>\n

Afterwards, head up to the top of the Sky Garden<\/a>, which is a public space on top of the \u2018Walkie Talkie \u2018 building in the city of London. Best of all, ss it\u2019s a public space, the Sky Garden is totally free to enter, but you will need to reserve a time slot (book here<\/a>). It offers some views of the best neighbourhoods in London.<\/span><\/p>\n

Oh, also, one easy way to know if you\u2019re entering the City of London is by looking out for the iron dragon statues that line the roads and pathways entering the City of London. They represent the ancient border, and you can\u2019t really miss them. <\/span><\/p>\n

Although a little outside of the city centre, Richmond is one of the best areas in London to explore if you fancy a more relaxing day.<\/span><\/p>\n

Once here, make sure to head to the Dysart Arms<\/a> for a tasty Sunday roast. Afterwards, pop over to Richmond Park, where you might even catch sight of deer. <\/span><\/p>\n

Plus, inside the Royal Naval College is The Painted Hall<\/a>. It’s considered London’s Sistine Chapel and is honestly breathtaking inside. Well worth a visit.<\/span><\/p>\n
