Thailand is a place that always surprises me.<\/p>\n

I remember the first time I visited \u2013 we were heading to Phuket and then to Phi Phi Islands \u2013 and I just had such a totally different expectation of Thailand. Movie and TV shows I\u2019d seen had depicted it as a hectic, manic and uber-humid place and so I arrived totally expecting something different from the truth.<\/p>\n

That first trip just showed how utterly beautiful and amazing Thailand was (see case in point here<\/a> and here<\/a>\u2026 and I\u2019ll leave more links below too) and couldn\u2019t be further from my expectations. We had days spend on the most beautiful beaches I\u2019d ever seen, paddled into hidden water-logged jungles in the middle of caves and snorkelled in some of the most pristine waters chock-filled with myriads of colourful animals.<\/p>\n

Going back to Thailand on my latest trip, and especially so as it was to the huge Thai city of Bangkok, again, I had different expectations. When I think of it, I can\u2019t fully put my finger on what my expectations were what I do know is that I didn\u2019t expect it to be half as nearly as relaxed as I found it.<\/p>\n

Like don\u2019t get me wrong \u2013 Bankok is essentially whatever you choose to make of it! If you wanna party, you\u2019ve come to the right place. If you want to relax pool-side in the lap of luxury, you\u2019ve come to the right place. If you want to check out amazing architecture and history, you\u2019ve come to the right place.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a brilliant city and does what all brilliant cities across the world do \u2013 they let you have whatever experiences suit your best and so let you have the best holiday possible. Essentially, whatever it is you\u2019re looking for in a holiday, you\u2019ll find it here.<\/p>\n

This is reflected in the age groups that visit too! We\u2019ve talking babies that can barely walk (with their families, of course) right up to grand (and probably great grand) parents!<\/p>\n
