It\u2019s not often I do a stand-alone foodie post like this, but I just couldn\u2019t figure out a better way to show you this amazing gem we found in Vancouver. For starters, I ate far too much and hence have far too many photos to append to the actual next post (*it would just be too much crammed into one post).<\/p>\n

Anyway, all that aside, let me tell you about Osteria Savio Volpe<\/a> \u2013 a restaurant you have to visit if you find yourself in Vancouver, Canada.<\/p>\n

\"Where<\/a><\/p>\n

Savio Volpe<\/a> is an Italian restaurant you have to take a taxi (or maybe drive) from downtown to get to, but it is so worth the trek here. Seeing as it\u2019s an Italian restaurant here, an Aperol Spritz to start the evening just makes common sense!<\/p>\n

The not-so-common-sense drink I had in addition to this was an espresso to start, but this time of the evening is when my jetlag really started to set in (for about 1 \u2013 2 hours, and then it disappears), so it made total sense. (Plus, we had arrived in Canada after almost 2 weeks in Nepal, so my body clock was 12 hours and 45 minutes ahead of Vancouver time).<\/p>\n

Drinks sorted, we got to the important business of food! We had a prime view of the food being made, so we had a bit of a head start when it came to deciding what to have.<\/p>\n

Bread with olives made their way to the table, to begin with\u2026 The bread was warm and doughy with a hard crust outside (just how I like it), and the olives were equally delicious. They were distractions, though (albeit rather tasty ones).<\/p>\n

The main event started with the steak tartare, within which lay an egg and shavings of Parmesan cheese! You stir it all up and waste no time taking it apart with lightly toasted bread and olive oil. Soooo. Sooooooo. Good!<\/p>\n

The salad came next. Utterly delicious, but I was distracted by something else I\u2019d order\u2026<\/p>\n

That something was this pasta…<\/p>\n

…but mostly this amazing piece of pork – cooked to perfection and complete with delicious crackling!<\/p>\n

Seriously, I have no idea how they managed to do it, but everything we\u2019d had here was absolutely amazing so far and had me very much in my happy place! The red wine also helped! Ha! <\/p>\n

We got crushed potatoes for sides, and to offset my carb guilt, some veg. I lie \u2013 I felt no guilt whatsoever! Haha!<\/p>\n

By the time dessert came round, I kinda knew I\u2019d overdone it. I was stuffed, but I\u2019d seen the guy make cannolis all evening and just knew I had to have at least one. We may have also ordered a chocolate tart as well.<\/p>\n

A few more Aperol Spritz and red wine were thrown into the mix, and by the time we left the restaurant, I could see why the folks we\u2019d met over at the Hyatt Vancouver Downtown Alberni<\/a> (where we were staying in Downtown) had been raving about this place! It\u2019s so worth popping round to.<\/p>\n

Arrive at Osteria Savio Volpe<\/a> early, unrushed and absolutely prepared to eat your weight in delicious food!<\/p>\n
