After conquering, “Europe’s tallest and fastest<\/em>“<\/a>,  I went on just one ride before getting distracted by the wine bar aptly located right next to the ride.<\/p>\n

This was not something I expected to see here at all. Seeing as we\u2019d already had a couple of beers so far, we grabbed a couple of glasses of wine (and some water \u2013 dehydration ain\u2019t no joke) and headed out to enjoy our wines in the sunshine.<\/p>\n

This lasted all of 20 minutes before we went off in search of more adventure in the park \u2013 choosing once again, rides guaranteed to get you went and hence, cool you off in the summer sunshine!<\/p>\n

Oh, and the best part about having queue jump tickets is that you can do this over and over again till you feel absolutely cool and refreshed! (*Silly thing is, there were 2 or 3 pools back at the hotel that could achieve the same effect but by this point, the adrenaline junkie in me would have it no other way that getting wet from a ride<\/em>). \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

We carried on, popping into the Sesame Street bit for a bit of nostalgia before making my way over to a ride I\u2019d left till the last minute \u2013 the Himalayan themed ride of Shambhala \u2013 the tallest ride (or at least it looked like tallest ride to me) in PortAventura<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Turns out, not so scary anymore once you have been on the tallest rollercoaster in Europe<\/a>! (Thankfully!!!)<\/p>\n

We carried on through the park squeezing in as many rides as possible before heading back to the hotel (at almost 8pm) to get ready for dinner along with the main reason we were visiting PortAventura in the first place \u2013 a party to celebrate the opening of Ferrari Land<\/a> (it actually opened a few months ago but a summer party is the only way to celebrate a place like this \u2013 spring just doesn\u2019t have the same excitement \u2013 or indeed, the same heat as summer does).<\/p>\n

We were welcomed by a very impressive and very fun band…<\/p>\n

…swiftly followed by glasses of champagne before settling in for an amazing dinner.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s other thing I realised when we were here \u2013 the food here is actually really good! Theme park food can sometimes leave a lot to be desired (though I have a serious thing for those roasted smoked Turkey legs you get in Universal studios in Orlando) but PortAventura<\/a> does pretty well on the food front!<\/p>\n

Dinner (of which, there was always nothing left on my plate by the time it had to be cleared away) soon led to dancing, peppered with cocktails and before you knew it, it was well past midnight and time to head back to the hotel!<\/p>\n

Back at the hotel though, everyone was still in good spirits and decided to head over to the bar, where we carried on chatting, laughing and trying out even more cocktails till late into the night!<\/p>\n

Suffice to say, by the time I went to bed that night, I was thoroughly exhausted but absolutely exhilarated by having such an amazing time in PortAventura!<\/p>\n

The next day, we would actually be leaving PortAventura but luckily, our flight wasn\u2019t till later in the evening so with that in mind, we headed back to try to squeeze in some of the rides we hadn\u2019t gotten to try yet (hello Log flumes)\u2026 and re-ride some old faves (hey Shambhala!).<\/p>\n

For lunch, we headed over to a Tex Mex, themed restaurant. This is probably the only one I\u2019d skip food-wise though the ribs here were pretty good \u2013 as was the chocolate cake, which Lloyd proceeded to tell me after wolfing his down and most of mine, before heading on even more rides. (I\u2019m not sure how many rides people can go through in half a day but we certainly gave them a run for their money! \ud83d\ude42 )<\/p>\n

Alas, the time to go home soon rolled on by and with that, we bad farewell to the park \u2013 promising to return very soon, this time with friends and perhaps squeezing in more time to see the nearby city of Tarragona (which I have been told is amazing).<\/p>\n

Even if it\u2019s just for a day when you visit here with friends, I totally recommend popping into PortAventura<\/a> and Ferrari Land<\/a>!<\/p>\n

There\u2019s something for everyone here and it\u2019s so easy to have a great time here! <\/p>\n
