When we went rowing around Menorca<\/a>, I remember one of the guys saying something about a hidden club in the caves and the idea of that just seemed so ridiculous (and so \u201cAlibaba and the 40 thieves\u201d-esque) that I thought it was just some kind of urban legend\/fable and dismissed it entirely.<\/p>\n

Turns out it wasn\u2019t\u2026 but before all that, have you ever heard of a Taula?<\/p>\n

Well, I hadn\u2019t either till this afternoon in Menorca. After sailing around the island<\/a> (a second, very different, experience to the initial kayaking one<\/a>) we headed off in search of a Taula.<\/p>\n

A Taula is actually a monument (kinda like Stonehenge in England), which is made up of several stone structures and dates back over 3,000 years!<\/p>\n

They are believed to be religious structures built by the people who lived on the islands back then but there\u2019s still so much that remains unknown about the Taulas \u2013 except, of course, for how impressive they are!<\/p>\n

These structures, by the way, can only ever be found on the island of Menorca and are an absolutely must-visit when you\u2019re in Menorca!<\/p>\n

By the time, we left the Taula, it was very nearly time to start to head back to the airport to catch our flight back to the UK but the rumours of this cave bar (and the amazing views\/sunsets it offered) were too great to pass up on so we decided to make a quick stop there before leaving.<\/p>\n

The cave bars\/club thing is called Cova d\u2019en Xoroi and are fairly well known by the locals here (and amongst some savvy tourists) and even as you make your way through, you\u2019re immediately impressed by the stunning views on offer (you have to pay to get in but you get a drink of your choice, which is pretty much the same as the entry price when you do so).<\/p>\n

After descending some steps and then making your way through internal cave paths (likes with opening \u2013 kinda like windows), you end up at the bar area where you get amazing views, a promise of spectacular sunsets and a pretty fantastic selection of drinks.<\/p>\n

I went for a caipirinha (I was going through a phase with them at that time) and soaked up as much as I possibly could of the view before eventually having to leave for the airport.<\/p>\n

This trip to Menorca certainly turned out to be quite the revelation (I\u2019d no idea half the stuff that was here even existed prior to visiting) and it has definitely made me wanna return and do it all over again come summer, this time with friends-in-tow and staying for much longer!<\/p>\n
