Thoroughly impressed by the Ice Castles of Edmonton<\/a>, we made our way back to town grab some well-earned lunch at an old school Mexican restaurant called Rostizado<\/a>. (Edmontonians love Mexican food as it turns out).<\/p>\n

Rostizado is designed to feel more like dining at a friend\u2019s place, than at a restaurant (right down to the colourful sofas and old style TV) and the meals here are definitely made for sharing.<\/p>\n

We decided to head off to the Art Gallery of Alberta<\/a> for more of a relaxed evening (pretty sure I\u2019d met my exercise quota for the week already)\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026before stopping by the Neon museum (which is next to the Rogers place arena on 104 Street and 104 Avenue) on the way back to Old Strathcona to kick back at the hotel<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As it turns out, I\u2019d been far too cocky about jetlag not bothering me so much as when dinner time started to roll on by, the jetlag kicked in properly!

Jetlag has never been a great match for amazing food (and cocktails) and as soon as we showed up at MEAT<\/a> (where we would be having dinner that night), that jetlag slowly started to retreat. (It totally ran for the hills once the food and drinks arrived).<\/p>\n

Lloyd went for a hot bourbon cider – apple, cinnamon, butter all rolled in with the bourbon; the perfectly indulgent winter warmer.<\/p>\n

I went for a Lynchburg lemonade \u2013 a rather refreshing pick-me-up (and a huge part of why my jetlag disappeared).<\/p>\n

MEAT does exactly what it says on the tin \u2013 serves meat! Seasoned, cured and roasted all in-house, the meats here are absolutely amazing. Meat-lovers \u2013 this is where you definitely need to head to in Edmonton!<\/p>\n

We decided to go for chicken and bbq ribs, served up with garlic fries, baked beans (but not as you know it), mac and cheese (so good) and winter veg.<\/p>\n
