Banksy has finally done it\u2026 he has created The Walled Off Hotel! Famed for his political pieces and his very own theme park called “Dismaland<\/a>\u201d, he’s conceived this place for us all to see.<\/span><\/p>\n

And, not surprisingly, it’s perched right next to the controversial wall that separates Israel from Palestinian territories. The Walled Off Hotel has been conceived by Banksy as a way to highlight a very real crisis.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Walled Off Hotel is situated right in the heart of Bethlehem and within touching distance of the towering walls that separate Israel and Palestine. If you\u2019re wanting to visit, it\u2019s likely you\u2019ll fly to Israel to stay. <\/span><\/p>\n

What is the Walled Off Hotel?<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

Firstly off, it\u2019s a hotel, but not like any other you\u2019ll have seen! Think of it as an artistic space, a demonstration and a reminder to us all of the bleak reality of what is a contentious situation. The hotel itself is a play on the ever so luxurious Waldorf Astoria\u2026 which has a much more opulent feel.<\/span><\/p>\n

What can you expect inside?<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

Firstly, don\u2019t imagine expect welcome drinks, hot towels and mid-day massage – the walled Off Hotel has been designed to showcase a situation that needs attention.<\/span><\/p>\n

The rooms themselves only get about 25 minutes of direct sunlight a day! Each of the rooms comes equipped with an eclectic mix of style and panache that offers views over army watchtowers. All alongside the towering wall itself and some pretty amazing pieces of Banksy artwork – all designed to showcase the reality of the situation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Each of the rooms is decorated differently.  Meaning a range of budgets and options for any type of traveller to experience the Walled Off Hotel.<\/span><\/p>\n

Army Barracks room:<\/b> The army barracks room in keeping with its name. A basic, totalitarian sleeping experience with the added extra earplugs thrown in for free (all for approximately $30 USD). With this room, you will need to share communal shower facilities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Scenic Wall Rooms:<\/b> Each of the scenic rooms offers some of the closest views you\u2019ll ever get of the wall (almost touching distance). Most of the rooms are even overlooked by the army watchtower outside *gulp*.  <\/span>Each room has it\u2019s own shower facilities and even air-conditioning, too!<\/span><\/p>\n

Presidential Rooms:<\/b> The almost palatial presidential suite can house up to 6 people, with its very own plunge bath, cinema, roof garden and in-room dining. An opulent experience for any president that loves walls, wouldn\u2019t you say?<\/span><\/p>\n
