Making our way over from K\u00f6lnTriangle <\/a>to the city centre, we decided to pop into the fairgrounds for some more toffee apples (anyone who\u2019s ever eaten a soggy supermarket toffee apple) will understand why we (but especially Lloyd) is obsessed with the stuff.<\/p>\n

\"All-Night<\/a><\/p>\n

We got a couple to go and walked over the bridge in search of food before heading out to the main event of the night \u2013 Cologne\u2019s Night at The Museum (actually called \u201cMuseumsnacht Koeln<\/em>\u201d)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The idea is simple, you get to hop around the city and visit almost 50 museums and art galleries till late at night.<\/p>\n

Unlike a typical museum day, you\u2019ve got a party at each of the museums, complete with live acts, drinks, dancing and all culminating in a huge after-party at the Museum Ludwig right next to the city centre.<\/p>\n

Effectively, the museums become the bars and clubs for the evening and it promised to be so much fun!<\/p>\n

When else can you say you go to a party with Warhol, Picasso and Roy Lichtenstein?<\/p>\n

Dinner was a pretty ad-hoc decision, we just decided to pop into the first place we saw, Servus Colonia Alpina.<\/p>\n

Now, on the surface of it looked like a bit of a tourist trap (it\u2019s got the bells and whistles to stop any tourists in their tracks) but it turned out to be excellent for food and definitely worth popping into for food and a beer.<\/p>\n

I started with the German sausage and Lloyd went for the cheese soup (which I was instantly jealous of and proceeded to \u2018share\u2019 with Lloyd).<\/p>\n

I then got the steak while Lloyd went for a cheese fondue. The fondue, by the way, is huge and Lloyd struggled to finish this, even with my help!<\/p>\n

For dessert, I went with the apple strudel and ice cream and Lloyd went with the pancakes \u2013 again, the pancakes looked like they were big enough to share with at least two other people so word of caution, if you\u2019re ordering here \u2013 be sure to inquire about the portions in advance as they\u2019re huge.<\/p>\n

This, of course, is a good thing because it means you can spend money on other things if you end up sharing a course of two here.<\/p>\n

Food over and done with, we headed over to the Museum Ludwig to start our night.<\/p>\n

We roamed through the hallway in search of the sights the Museum had to offer, joined by many others \u2013 some rooms being more popular than others of course.<\/p>\n

We found some old familiar favourites (Hello Guerrilla Girls!) and a whole lot of new ones!<\/p>\n

\u2026but my absolute favourite of the lot is the Picasso collection! As it turns out, Museum Ludwig is particularly well-known for its vast collection of Picasso\u2019s artwork (something I found out after we visited) and there\u2019s more Picasso work here than I\u2019ve ever seen in any other museum!<\/p>\n

I could happily have spent even more time roaming the hallways of this Museum but alas, my FOMO got the better of me and we decided to go check out the other museums\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026but not before popping into the party downstairs for a little boogie and a round of champagne!<\/p>\n
