 <\/strong>Nestled in between the gorgeous Mediterranean Sea and the dramatic mountains of C\u00e9vennes is Nimes, one of France\u2019s prettiest little cities!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

 <\/strong>Of course, everyone has heard of the big-hitting destinations of Paris<\/a>, Lille<\/a> <\/strong>and Bordeaux<\/a>, but there\u2019s so much more to this incredible country<\/a> that doesn\u2019t involve the most popular ports-of-call…<\/p>\n

…case in point, with Nimes.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Over the last few years, we\u2019ve visited Nimes twice and I can\u2019t tell you how much I love it!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Before our first visit, I\u2019d heard very little about the city and went out on a whim to discover an area of France that we\u2019d never experienced before\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026 and boy am I glad we did! After having the mot incredible first-time visit to Nimes, I managed to coerce a bunch of my friends to give in to my constant nagging to visit Nimes for a long weekend away.<\/p>\n

\"Have<\/a><\/p>\n

None of the group had ever contemplated visited Nimes (and most hadn\u2019t even heard of it)…<\/p>\n

\"Have<\/a>… so the pressure was on to show them how much of an amazing city it truly is.<\/p>\n

\"Have<\/a><\/p>\n

One of the things that I love most about Nimes is its history. Nimes was a pretty important Roman city, which means there\u2019s shed loads of beautiful Roman artefacts and sites that are well worth a gander at.<\/p>\n

\"Have<\/a><\/p>\n

The city has one of the best-preserved Roman Amphitheatres in the world! (Even better than the Colleseum in Rome).<\/p>\n

\"Have<\/a><\/p>\n

Along with the last remaining (intact) Roman temple, the gorgeous Jardins and the iconic Roman aqueduct that fed the city with water.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Over the coming weeks I\u2019m going to post quite a few more updates on Nimes but I was just too excited to share them all with you (hence the post now \ud83d\ude42 ).<\/p>\n

It was such a cool place… even having its own rooftop pool!<\/p>\n

Nimes is fast become one of my favourite French cities!<\/p>\n
