The next morning, we woke up bright and early (perhaps too early?) to try to see the rest of the sights in the Norangsdalen valley before catching our ferry from Hellesylt to Geiranger.<\/p>\n

As it turns out, our eagerness the day<\/a> before meant that we\u2019d actually covered pretty much the entire valley and had driven just short of arriving at Hellesylt so our drive to catch the ferry was fairly short indeed! (We\u2019d also added a lot of extra time to factor the need to stop for photos so yes, we were very early).<\/p>\n

\"A<\/a><\/p>\n

Still, arriving early to places in Norway is an excuse to go for a stroll and appreciate the beauty that\u2019s everywhere here so no complaints from me. \ud83d\ude42 I love it here!<\/p>\n

Eventually, we boarded our ferry and headed off to Geiranger.<\/p>\n

\"A<\/a><\/p>\n

\"A<\/a><\/p>\n

\"A<\/a><\/p>\n

Now Geiranger is a very special and amazing place that I\u2019ve wanted to visit for years now.<\/p>\n

It’s home to Geirangerfjord \u2013 a place so beautiful it was designated UNESCO World Heritage status and is a MUST-SEE (*yes, Caps Lock was needed for this<\/em>) when you\u2019re in Norway!<\/p>\n

\"A<\/a><\/p>\n

The ferry ride over is also deliberately slower so you can fully appreciate the beauty of the fjord.<\/p>\n

\"A<\/a><\/p>\n

You also get a guide explaining the different sights you\u2019re seeing as you go along so this is not designed to be your ordinary commuter ferry to get you from point A to B.<\/p>\n

\"A<\/a><\/p>\n

As you slowly sail through the almost flat fjord waters, you\u2019re surrounded by beautiful mountains, draped with pretty waterfalls that somehow managed to be even more beautiful in grey foggy morning weather.<\/p>\n

You might even get some of the locals fly by to say hi!<\/p>\n

\"A<\/a><\/p>\n

\"A<\/a><\/p>\n

The entire ride over just makes you more and more excited about visiting this amazing part of the world!<\/p>\n

\"A<\/a><\/p>\n

Spotting familiar sights (only ‘familiar’ from photos on Pinterest and Google) makes you realise that you\u2019ll soon be arriving at Geirangerfjord at which point, it\u2019s time to head downstairs, get into your car and prepare to zoom off to exploring this Norwegian gem.<\/p>\n
