To get into the Dordogne Valley, you will most likely arrive at Brive or Bergerac airport (unless of course, if you drive in) and while there’s not an awful lot to do in Brive, it’s still worth a little visit, even if just for a few hours.<\/p>\n

To start, head over to the market for breakfast – preferably in the form of freshly baked croissants and fresh fruits with coffee…<\/p>\n

… and while you’re there, you might as well have a little potter around. You never know what you might find!<\/p>\n

French cheese? Those ones looked scary but tastes amazing but hey ho… isn’t that always the case with good cheese?<\/p>\n

\"A<\/a><\/p>\n

Or a rippled heart shaped tomato? (Personally I see a butt-shaped tomato).<\/p>\n

After you’re done with breakfast and the market, stretch your legs with a little jaunt around Brive.<\/p>\n

It’s actually quite cute (even in the rain) and is filled with little surprises at every turn.<\/p>\n

The cathedral here is also worth popping into.<\/p>\n

At the right times, you’ll have the place all to yourself!<\/p>\n

A spot definitely worth popping into when you’re in Brive is the Denoix Distillery<\/a>. Here you’ll find the most delightful French liquors in a family run business that’s almost a century old!<\/p>\n

There’s so much on offer here!<\/p>\n

\"A<\/a><\/p>\n

\"A<\/a><\/p>\n

If you ask nicely, they’ll even show you where they make everything…<\/p>\n

… and if you’re extra nice, you’ll even get to sample several of their offerings. And I mean SEVERAL! *licks lips*<\/p>\n

Not a bad way to spend a morning right?<\/p>\n

There’s so much more you can do here so I reckon, you throw the map out of the window and get lost in Brives many pretty little streets. Alas, we were able to take up this advice as we had somewhere else to be… and it’s somewhere I’d wanted to visit for quite some time!
