A CELEBRITY name above the door might make a pub tempting — but would you fancy the bill?
From a £9.50 Scotch egg at James Blunt’s boozer to fish and chips estimated to cost around £60 as part of a set menu at Tom Kerridge’s The Hand & Flowers, star-linked venues have attracted attention for some eye-catching prices.

And it isn’t just fancy main courses that can make a dent in your wallet.
A burger, a bowl of salad or even a humble portion of chips can come with a hefty price tag when you’re dining somewhere with a famous connection.
Some customers have taken to social media to complain, questioning everything from portion sizes to whether a burger you can’t pick up counts as a burger at all.
But others have defended the dishes — and the stars behind them have pointed to flavours, ingredients and competing venues’ prices.
We’ve rounded up some of the celebrity pub and restaurant prices that have had diners checking the menu twice, plus one football-ground breakfast that caused a stir of its own.
James Blunt — £9.50 Scotch egg

You’re Beautiful? Your bill might be less easy on the eye.
James Blunt’s Fox & Pheasant in Chelsea, London, lists a Scotch egg at £9.50 among its bar snacks.
That means ordering two would leave you with little change from a £20 note — before you’ve even bought a drink.
The bar snacks menu also lists honey and mustard-glazed chipolatas for £8.50 and crispy squid with seaweed and sweet chilli sauce for £12.50.
Fancy something more substantial? Beer-battered fish and chips with crushed peas and tartare sauce comes in at £21.50.
A beef burger with fries costs £19.50, with American cheese another £1 and streaky bacon an extra £1.75.
Meanwhile, an 8oz sirloin served with beef-fat fries, F&P butter and peppercorn jus is £38.
Even pudding will give you pause for thought, with the menu’s “say when” dark chocolate mousse listed at £16.
The Sun has contacted The Fox & Pheasant for comment.
Tom Kerridge — £60 fish and chips

There’s nothing humble about the price of this pub classic.
Diners at Tom Kerridge’s The Hand & Flowers in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, can expect to pay around £95 for a two-course weekend lunch.
Accounting for the starter being the cheaper option of the two, The Hand & Flowers’ fish and chips works out to cost around £60.
For that, customers get fish served with caviar tartare sauce and minted pea purée.
A serving contained just 17 chips, according to one report.
The price prompted criticism online, with some branding it “far too expensive” and “a joke”.
Tripadvisor reviewers also described the dish as “pretty ordinary” and “too expensive for what it is”, while one claimed they had paid “£68 for fish and chips”.
But not everyone was left with a bad taste.
One satisfied customer wrote: “The fish and chips was excellently cooked. The fish was super fresh and the batter was superb, light and crispy with a delicious flavour.”
It isn’t the first time Kerridge’s take on the British staple has caused a stir.
In 2023, the chef faced criticism for charging £37 for fish and chips at his Harrods restaurant, Kerridge’s Fish & Chips.
Previously addressing the debate on Instagram, he wrote: “I know my Fish and Chips are always a hot topic and in my opinion, you absolutely can’t beat a good fish and chippy tea.”
The Sun approached Tom Kerridge for comment.
Tom Kerridge — £27.50 burger

Tom Kerridge makes his second appearance in our round-up — and this time it’s his burger getting a grilling.
The TV chef sparked criticism over a £27.50 burger at his posh pub The Coach in Marlow, Buckinghamshire.
But it wasn’t just the price leaving some diners baffled.
Served without a bottom bun, the towering creation is designed to be eaten with a knife and fork rather than picked up with your hands.
The Coach Burger comes with soy and sesame chicken, Asian slaw and smoked cheddar.
One critic quipped: “I need a bank loan to pay for it.”
Another complained: “Not a burger. How the hell do you pick that up and eat it?”
Others called for burgers to be made wider rather than taller.
But Kerridge appeared to take the backlash in his stride, writing: “Some haters will hate, but everyone is loving the new flavours within this dish.”
And some customers were firmly on his side.
One diner said: “Had this on Monday, it was amazing.”
Tom Zanetti — nearly £20 pitta bread and £30 salad

Even a salad comes with a hefty bill at Celebs Go Dating star Tom Zanetti’s Marbella restaurant.
Fans were shocked by the menu prices at Zanetti’s in Puerto Banús, with pitta bread costing nearly £20 and a Caesar salad almost £30.
After the DJ shared a TikTok video promoting the launch, followers were quick to question the cost.
One wrote: “10 quid for chips Tom?”
Another said: “30 notes for a caesar.”
Even dessert raised eyebrows, with one follower commenting: “I deffo wouldn’t be paying £10 for vanilla ice cream but good luck to you.”
But Zanetti defended the prices, saying they were lower than those at many competing venues in Marbella.
He joked that they might seem expensive to anyone used to buying chips “from the kebab shop in Leeds for a quid”.
The star added: “These prices are actually so much lower in comparison to most places competition.”
Gordon Ramsay — £325 Christmas dinner

Gordon Ramsay’s Pétrus restaurant in Belgravia, west London, was criticised last year for serving a seven-course Christmas Day menu for £325 a head.
With the 15% discretionary service charge, that’s £373.75 per person, before any drinks or other extras.
Instead of the traditional bird, the festive feast features lobster ravioli, Dover sole with black truffle and deer.
There’s also a potimarron tart served on sea lettuce, followed later by passion fruit and coconut sorbet and caramel tarte tatin.
The reported menu price was £35 higher than two years earlier — making it a Christmas treat that could take a serious bite out of your festive budget.
Arsenal football club — £50 Full English breakfast

It’s not just the football getting fans fired up at the Emirates.
Arsenal came under fire after a supporter shared a picture of a Full English at the stadium’s Woolwich Restaurant, claiming it cost £50.
For that, he said the plate included one fried egg, two sausages, a mushroom, a tomato, a slice of bread and a cup of beans — topped with watercress.
The fan described the breakfast as having “all the trimmings”, but fellow fans weren’t convinced.
One commented: “Absolutely nothing on that plate warrants that price.”
Another asked: “Did they forget to put the trimmings on?”
A third summed up their frustration with: “Games gone.”
