Thomas Markle asked to leave care home after cops launch probe into ‘stash of child sex images’ following Sun expose

THOMAS Markle has left the care home he was living in following The Sun’s world exclusive that he is being probed by police over child sex abuse images.

That location, which The Sun has chosen not to reveal, has been described as a luxury rehabilitation centre that resembles a hotel.

A source at the home said last night: “He has been transferred following the news of his alleged crimes as it’s not a good look for us.”

Markle Snr was recovering and learning to walk again following the amputation of his left leg in the Philippines 11 months ago.

He is now in a nursing home in Florida, The Sun can reveal.

The Sun previously reported in a world exclusive how cops in the Philippines are investigating Meghan’s dad over boxes of sick material containing a child abuse video and child sex images.

We reported on the full inventory of surrendered computers, DVDs, mobile phones, video tapes, film negatives, memory data cards, books and pictures.

This included photos allegedly showing Thomas Snr in his 40s or 50s with a young girl in what appears to be a hotel room, and another showing her naked.

Thomas Junior – Meghan’s half-brother – told The Sun how he stumbled upon a child abuse video on a phone among his father’s abandoned possessions and reported it to cops.

Markle Snr denies all of the allegations, and has publicly denied the allegations as “sick lies.”

Thomas Jnr told The Sun he handed over four large boxes of items to cops last week in a world exclusive.

The window fitter became his father’s full-time carer after he suffered a stroke in 2022 and moved to Mexico to support him.

The pair relocated to Cebu City in the Philippines in January 2025 before a life-threatening blood clot led to the amputation of award-winning lighting technician Markle Snr’s left leg.

He was forced to return for treatment in the US, leaving behind a large collection of belongings where his son claims to have found “hundreds, if not thousands” of child abuse images.

Meghan’s father lived in the city of Rosarito at the time the hard drives were allegedly loaded with content.

Yesterday we reported that cops in the Philippines have been granted a warrant to search Thomas Snr’s computers, phones, hard drives and old videotapes.

Cops in Cebu needed a court warrant before they could examine the items.

Thomas Snr’s belongings — itemised in 80 categories on a police inventory list — are being combed through by Cebu’s Regional Anti Cybercrime Unit 7.

Data checks appeared to show all of the illegal material was downloaded in 2014 and 2020 — long before he moved to the Philippines with his son Thomas Jnr, 60, in January last year.

IT experts have already established hard drives among the haul contain “hundreds, if not thousands” of abuse pics and videos, including the worst illegal content.

Sources in Cebu City, the Philippines, where he lived until recently said the dark discoveries made so far may represent only “the tip of a huge iceberg”.

Thomas Jnr told The Sun previously: “It’s been a long process but I’m determined to cooperate fully in the hope that justice will be done.

“It took nine hours to sign all the documentation as I handed over all that stuff but I was relieved to get it off my hands.

“I think it will take months to check all these items and confirm my father is the disgusting monster I’ve now disowned.

“But if it transfers to the US, I’d be prepared to fly to Florida, or wherever he is, to see him in court.”

A police forensic trawl began after Philippines interior minister Jonvic Remulla said all signs point to Markle Snr being a “possible sex offender of the grossest kind”.

FBI investigators have confirmed their interest amid concerns about potential offences while Markle Snr was living in Chicago, Hollywood and Pennsylvania.

Meghan, 45, told 82-year-old Markle Snr it would be the last time he ever heard from her — and that she would never allow him to meet his grandchildren – in a letter last year.

He received the letter while in hospital in the Philippines after his leg was amputated in December 2025.

The bombshell revelations came as the Met Police was under scrutiny for failing to investigate child-sex claims made in a 2019 letter.

Meghan said she was “concerned” no action had been taken by Scotland Yard to alert other authorities.

An Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) spokesperson said: “Following a voluntary conduct referral from the Met Police, we have decided an independent investigation is required into its failure to pass on allegations of serious offending, contained in a letter it received in 2019, to relevant overseas authorities at the time.

“We have decided that a further conduct matter – relating to an alleged data breach where information was passed on to a third party – should be returned to the force to be appropriately dealt with including via its data breach policies if required.”
