Formation Talent Agency Names Matt Gogal Head Of Talent

EXCLUSIVE: Formation Talent Agency is bolstering its talent division, naming veteran representative Matt Gogal Head of Talent.

In his new role, Gogal will oversee the strategy, development and day-to-day operations of Formation’s adult theatrical and emerging talent departments. He will report to president Rick Estimond.

“Matt is a tremendous addition to Formation and to the continued growth of the company,” Estimond said. “He brings deep industry relationships and a real gift for developing careers and creating opportunity across global markets. Formation has built something really special over more than four decades, and Matt strengthens it, expanding what we can do for our clients and extending our reach across the industry. I couldn’t be more excited about what we’ll continue to build together.”

Gogal is transitioning from his role as a partner at talent management firm Cultured Artists, marking his return to the agency side of the business. He previously served as a talent agent at A3 Artists Agency, representing actors across film, television and theater, and earlier held leadership roles at boutique agency The Talent House LA, where he was named partner and president.

“Formation has a remarkable history, strong industry relationships and a real opportunity to continue evolving with the business,” Gogal said. “What excites me is the chance to build on the foundation Rick and the team have created and bring even greater strategy, connectivity and opportunity to our clients.”

Clients expected to join Gogal at Formation include Emmy-nominated Al Calderon (Brilliant Minds, Days of Our Lives), Jolene Purdy (The Bondsman), Jaime Lee Kirchner (Bull), Nazneen Contractor (Children Ruin Everything), Krystal Smith (Animal Control), Emma Hunton (Good Trouble), RJ Mitte (Breaking Bad), and Josh Bitton (Grotesquerie), among others.

Established in 1983 as People Store, Formation has long been recognized as one of the Southeast’s leading boutique talent agencies. The company rebranded as Formation in 2025 as part of a broader evolution focused on selective, strategically driven representation and the development of both emerging and established artists.

Formation represents actors and creatives working across film, television, commercials and related media.
