Here’s meghan McCain Criticizes Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s U.K. Move
Meghan McCain criticized Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on social media after reports that the couple are returning to the United Kingdom.
The former View host criticized The Duke and Duchess of Sussex on Thursday in a post on X, where she referred to Harry and Meghan as “grifters.”
“One thing about Americans is we can see through bullshit and we don’t like entitled grifters,” McCain wrote. “They could never hack it here and truly no one gives a shit about d list [sic] royals.”
“Good luck to our friends in the UK,” she continued, “They’re your problem now.”
McCain has often spoken out against the British royal family and Markle, in particular, routinely criticizing her on the Happy Hour talk series during the 2025 release of Markle’s docuseries With Love, Meghan.
McCain’s comments come just a few days after it was reported that Harry, Markle and their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, would be relocating back to the United Kingdom after six years in California.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed on Friday that Markle is in talks to join the third season of Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen, which films in the U.K. and is set in England. Her role is currently being written and it is unclear how many episodes she would appear in. The second season of the Netflix drama premieres on Sept. 3.
Sources told THR that Markle and Ritchie met through mutual acquaintances. Netflix did not immediately respond to THR‘s request for comment.
Markle previously starred on the long-running legal drama Suits before leaving the series in 2017 following her engagement to Prince Harry. The couple married in 2018 and formally stepped back from their roles as senior working royals in 2020, relocating to California.
After settling in Montecito, California, Markle and Harry inked an overall deal with Netflix that led to several docuseries and projects with mixed results, including Harry & Meghan, Polo and With Love, Meghan. The couple’s Netflix partnership was downgraded to a first-look deal one year ago.
Prince Harry and Markle, who will reportedly be living in a private residence outside London, are expected to keep their home in Montecito as well as their vacation home in Portugal. Archie and Lilibet have been enrolled in a British school, where they will begin classes in September, according to reports.
It is unknown how long the Sussex family will stay in England.
