TOHO animation and NIJISANJI EN Team Up for Anime Expo 2026 Special
Fans of TOHO animation will soon get an inside look at the studio’s presence at this year’s massive convention. The studio has announced a collaboration with NIJISANJI EN virtual streamers Shu Yamino and Meloco Kyoran to host a special report covering Anime Expo 2026. The program is set to premiere on the official TOHO animation YouTube channel on Saturday, August 15, at 8:00 PM PDT, which corresponds to Sunday, August 16, at 12:00 PM JST.
This special report marks the first time the studio has partnered with the popular VTuber duo. The program aims to recap the brand’s activities at the Los Angeles Convention Center, featuring on-site footage, event highlights, and the hosts’ signature banter. Viewers can expect a comprehensive look at the TOHO animation booth and the various panel stages that hosted star-studded voice talent from several hit series.
For fans who were unable to attend the convention in person, this special provides a unique opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the event. The coverage includes insights into exhibits and panels that many attendees may have missed during the busy weekend. The inclusion of Shu and Meloco as hosts adds a fresh, energetic perspective to the recap, bridging the gap between the studio’s major titles and the global VTuber community.
A Look Inside the Booth and Beyond
The program will guide viewers through the event venue, showcasing the TOHO animation booth and panels dedicated to popular titles. The lineup of featured anime includes major hits such as My Hero Academia, Jujutsu Kaisen, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, The Apothecary Diaries, and Though I Am an Inept Villainess. Beyond the series themselves, the special will also introduce exclusive merchandise available through the TOHO animation STORE US.
The special also features guest appearances to round out the coverage. Hana Hishikawa, who provides the voice for Leelee in Though I Am an Inept Villainess, will offer commentary on the series and her character. This marks Hishikawa’s first-ever panel appearance, and she will participate in a Q&A session with the hosts. Additionally, content creator OHIOBOSS SATOYU will report directly from the booth, helping to showcase the interactive exhibits that allowed fans to step into the worlds of their favorite anime.
This collaboration highlights the growing trend of studios integrating digital creators into their official event coverage. By utilizing the reach of NIJISANJI EN, TOHO animation is effectively extending the life of their convention presence, ensuring that the excitement of the event reaches a wider global audience. The special will be available with English audio and Japanese subtitles, making it accessible to a broad range of international fans.
