Prince William issues urgent climate warning

Prince William has expressed deep concern over the devastating wildfires sweeping across parts of the United Kingdom, France, and Spain, describing the crisis as a powerful reminder of the growing impact of climate change. In a statement shared through the official Instagram Stories account he shares with Princess Catherine on Monday, July 27, the Prince of Wales extended his heartfelt support to everyone affected by the destructive fires while praising the dedication of emergency responders battling the blazes.

“Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the devastating wildfires across France, Spain and the UK,” Prince William wrote. He also acknowledged the extraordinary efforts of firefighters, emergency personnel, and volunteers who have been working around the clock under extremely dangerous and exhausting conditions to protect lives, homes, and natural landscapes.

The Prince went on to emphasize that the ongoing wildfire emergency highlights the serious environmental challenges facing countries across Europe. He warned that the increasing frequency and intensity of such disasters reflect the reality of a changing climate, stressing the urgent need to safeguard both communities and the natural world. His message underscored the importance of taking long-term action to address environmental threats while supporting those on the front lines responding to natural disasters.

The remarks come as Europe experiences one of its most destructive wildfire seasons in recent history. The fires have spread rapidly across large parts of France and Spain, forcing hundreds of thousands of residents to leave their homes. Reports indicate that approximately 220,000 people have been evacuated from southwestern France, while another 116,000 people have fled affected areas in Spain as authorities continue efforts to contain the flames.

The scale of destruction has been enormous. In southwestern France alone, nearly 42,000 hectares of forest have been consumed by fire, making it one of the country’s most severe forest fire disasters since the First World War. Across France, wildfires have scorched almost 98,000 hectares of land this year. Spain has also suffered significant losses, with around 70,000 hectares destroyed as extreme heat, dry conditions, and strong winds continue to fuel the fires.

The wildfire crisis has also raised growing concerns in the United Kingdom. Although the country has not experienced fires on the same scale as France or Spain, officials are closely monitoring conditions as prolonged periods of hot and dry weather increase the risk of similar outbreaks.

Minister for Intergovernmental Relations Hamish Falconer said the government is actively preparing for the possibility of major wildfires. He noted that fires have already been reported in Scotland and confirmed that the British government remains in close contact with the Scottish government to coordinate support where needed.

Falconer described the scenes unfolding around Bordeaux in France and across parts of Spain as deeply alarming, adding that the UK recognizes the need to strengthen its preparedness and emergency response capabilities. Authorities are also taking precautionary measures as Britain prepares for what is expected to be its fourth heatwave of the summer, with emergency services remaining on high alert for any new wildfire outbreaks.

As extreme weather events become increasingly common, Prince William’s message serves as a reminder of the importance of environmental protection, climate resilience, and international cooperation in responding to the growing challenges posed by climate change.

Meghan Markle ready to fight back after cheating rumours over Prince Harry surface

Royal insiders have pushed back against cheating rumours surrounding Prince Harry, while revealing that Meghan Markle is ready to fight back against the claims. According to a report by New Idea, Lady Colin Campbell made unproven allegations about an alleged affair involving Harry. The claims first surfaced on The Nerve podcast on July 23rd and quickly spread online. The outlet’s source claimed Meghan had discovered messages between Harry and a woman who also lives in Montecito. According to the report, Meghan allegedly saw the woman’s texts on Harry’s phone. Insiders close to the couple were quick to shut down the rumours. They insisted there is no truth to the claims, adding that Meghan and Harry remain firmly united despite the noise. Still, the source noted a difference in how each of them wants to handle it. Meghan reportedly wants to address the rumours head-on, while Harry would rather stay silent and let it pass. One insider pointed out that this is not the first time Lady Colin Campbell has made outlandish claims about the couple. Over the past five years, she has also alleged that Meghan didn’t give birth to either Archie or Lilibet. That history, the source suggested, may explain why her latest claims about a mistress and leaked texts spread so fast online. However, the insider found it strange that anyone would claim Harry and the woman were seen together publicly in an age where everyone carries a smartphone. As for how the couple plans to respond, insiders say Harry prefers to stay above this kind of gossip, given his royal background. Meghan, though, is said to feel the sting more personally. The source described the situation as distressing for her, since she reportedly wanted to shut down this narrative years ago, long before it resurfaced now. The rumours arrive at a time when Harry and Meghan continue to face intense scrutiny in the media. Whether this latest claim fades quietly or continues to build remains to be seen.

Zohran Mamdani reveals he has been vibing to Shamoon Ismail

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani was once known as rapper Young Cardamom. He has not left his music roots behind. This week, he revealed that Pakistani rapper Shamoon Ismail is currently on his playlist. Speaking with Rolling Stone, Mamdani was asked what he has been listening to. He named Radio & Weasel, a Ugandan duo that topped charts for years. He also mentioned Shamoon Ismail, saying he has followed the Pakistani rapper for a few years now. Whenever he is feeling reflective, he said, he puts on Kacey Musgraves. It is not clear how Mamdani discovered Ismail’s music. But the choice fits his background. He was born to a Ugandan father and an Indian mother, and raised in New York. His music taste reflects that mix. It also shows his close ties to the South Asian communities he represents. He has not specified which Ismail songs he is playing right now. This also is not the first time he has shown love for South Asian music. After his primary win, he walked off stage to the Bollywood hit “Dhoom Machale.” Fans still remember that moment. Mamdani’s taste is wide ranging. He has also spoken fondly of Taylor Swift, Jay Z, and Kim Petras. He is a fan of Indian American rapper Himanshu Suri, known as Heems. Mamdani has said Heems is part of the reason he entered politics. As for Ismail, his soulful rap style keeps building a strong following. Recent tracks like “used to it,” “Alone Together,” and “VOLUME” have racked up big streaming numbers. The singer recently took some time away from the spotlight. That break reportedly lined up with a major personal milestone, possibly an engagement or a wedding. He resurfaced on New Year’s Eve with a handwritten note to fans. He described the time away simply as a “transition.” Mamdani’s shoutout is likely to boost Ismail’s profile further. This is especially true among fans who enjoy seeing South Asian artists recognized on a global political stage.

Was Celeste Rivas pregnant? DA reveals detail in D4vd case

A key clarification has emerged in the murder case against singer D4vd, as the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that Celeste Rivas Hernandez was not pregnant at the time of her death, putting to rest speculation that surfaced during recent court proceedings. The clarification follows widespread discussion after prosecutors presented text messages during a preliminary hearing showing that Rivas had previously become pregnant in 2024, when she was 13 years old, and later underwent an abortion. The disclosure led to online speculation that she may have also been pregnant when she died in April 2025. According to the District Attorney’s Office, investigators do not believe Rivas was pregnant at the time of her death. Prosecutors shared the update with People on July 29, explaining that the clarification was issued after an amendment to her death certificate had changed the pregnancy section from “no” to “unknown,” creating confusion about her medical status. The murder case centres on David Anthony Burke, the singer professionally known as D4vd, who has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including first-degree murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14 and unlawful mutilation of human remains. During the preliminary hearing, prosecutors introduced text messages exchanged between Burke and Rivas regarding the earlier pregnancy. In one message, Rivas wrote, “Both of us aren’t able to take care of it,” while Burke replied, “I know but still.” Prosecutors presented the messages as part of their evidence during the hearing. Court proceedings also included testimony from investigators and forensic experts as prosecutors argued there was sufficient evidence for the case to proceed to trial. The hearing focused on determining whether enough evidence existed to hold Burke over for trial rather than deciding guilt or innocence. Earlier this week, a Los Angeles judge ruled that prosecutors had presented enough evidence for Burke to stand trial on the charges. The decision came after several days of testimony and the presentation of forensic, digital and documentary evidence by the prosecution. Rivas’ remains were discovered in September 2025 inside the trunk of a Tesla linked to Burke. Authorities later ruled her death a homicide, leading to Burke’s arrest in April 2026. He remains in custody after pleading not guilty to all charges filed against him. The District Attorney’s latest clarification specifically addresses speculation surrounding Rivas’ pregnancy status, confirming that while the teenager had previously experienced a pregnancy more than a year before her death, she was not pregnant when she was killed. Prosecutors said the earlier text messages and abortion were unrelated to her medical condition at the time of her death. The criminal case against Burke will now move forward after the judge’s ruling, with further proceedings expected in the coming weeks as prosecutors continue pursuing the charges against the singer.

During an emotional speech at her Eternal Sunshine Tour stop in Chicago, the singer explained that her upcoming break had been planned long before recent public discussions about her appearance. Grande said the decision was not a response to online negativity but part of a personal commitment to creating a healthier and more balanced future.  The Grammy-winning artist told fans that the tour has been one of the most healing experiences of her career. Speaking from the stage, she thanked concertgoers for their unwavering support and said their love has carried her through challenging moments. Paramount delays Warner Bros. Discovery merger as …

Paramount has agreed to delay its planned merger with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) after facing a major legal challenge from a coalition of 12 U.S. states and the Writers Guild of America (WGA). The move marks a significant development in one of Hollywood’s biggest proposed media mergers, with the companies now expected to wait until at least June 1, 2027—or until a federal court reaches a final decision on the case.  The proposed merger, valued at approximately $110 billion including debt, aims to combine two of the entertainment industry’s largest companies under Paramount Skydance. Supporters argue the deal would create a stronger competitor to streaming giants such as Netflix and Disney by bringing together major film studios, television networks, and streaming platforms. However, critics fear the merger would give the combined company too much power over film production, television licensing, and content distribution.  The legal challenge was filed by California and 11 other states, which claim the merger could significantly reduce competition in the entertainment industry. State attorneys general argue that fewer major studios could result in higher prices, fewer opportunities for creators, and reduced choices for consumers. Separately, the Writers Guild of America has also sued to block the transaction, expressing concerns that further consolidation could lead to fewer writing jobs and weaker bargaining power for creative professionals.  Rather than pushing ahead with the original timeline, Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery agreed to pause the merger while the court considers the case. The agreement eliminates the need for an immediate injunction hearing and instead allows the dispute to move toward a full antitrust trial. Legal experts expect the process to take several months before a final ruling is issued.  The delay could prove costly for Paramount. Under the revised agreement, the company may face substantial financial penalties if the merger is not completed within the agreed timeframe, including daily “ticking fees” that could total billions of dollars if the case extends well beyond the original closing date. Investors have already reacted cautiously, with Paramount shares declining following news of the delay.  Despite the legal setback, Paramount remains committed to completing the acquisition and has vowed to defend the deal in court. The outcome of the case could reshape the future of Hollywood, determining whether another wave of media consolidation moves forward or whether regulators will succeed in placing stricter limits on mergers in the entertainment industry.
