My Hero Academia Returns With New Merch For 10th Anniversary After Its True Finale

Although My Hero Academia has already reached its conclusion, the series continues to stay in the spotlight thanks to its 10th anniversary celebrations. Based on the acclaimed manga written and illustrated by Kohei Horikoshi, Studio Bones released an anime adaptation in 2016, which later became one of the most successful series of all time. With more than 100 million manga copies in circulation and a globally famous anime adaptation, My Hero Academia‘s success is nothing less than historic. While the anime wrapped up the main story in December last year, it returned with two new episodes as part of the anniversary celebrations.

However, even if the anime has no plans to return, the anniversary celebrations continue with more exciting projects. An official website was launched for this milestone to share all the updates regarding the anniversary projects and releases. The series is returning with Class 1-A figures, which include all the students, All Might, and Shota Aizawa. They’re wearing formal attire instead of their usual hero costumes, since it was designed specifically for the 10th anniversary. The individual figures were placed together to hype up the latest release. They will be available individually in crane games across Japan in 2027. So far, these figures have not been confirmed for a U.S. release.

While the anime concluded its main story in December 2025, the series already confirmed its return with a special episode. My Hero Academia is one of those rare series that received a complete adaptation, and it’s all thanks to its popularity. The special episode, My Hero Academia: More, adapted the extra chapter from the final volume, which followed the beloved characters eight years after the final war. A few months after the special episode, an anime short, I Am a Hero Too, was released on August 2nd, 2026.

This six-minute short was based on a one-shot by Kohei Horikoshi from the 2025 fanbook My Hero Academia: Ultra-Age. Centering on teenage Eri, the short bids a heartwarming farewell to fans who have been part of the journey for several years. After the latest short’s release, the anime doesn’t have any canon material left to adapt. While the anime may never return with a new story by Horikishi, the series’ legacy will live on thanks to new projects and releases.
