Suspected Chinese Scam Boss Arrested in Chonburi
CHONBURI – Thai immigration authorities have arrested a suspected Chinese scam kingpin wanted internationally for allegedly defrauding hundreds of victims of approximately 900 million baht. The suspect, identified as ‘Yang,’ also known as ‘Jack Yang,’ was apprehended on Tuesday at a housing estate in Bang Lamung district, Chonburi.

According to immigration police, Yang is wanted in several countries and is the subject of an Interpol notice for operating an online gambling scam based in Cagayan De Oro, Mindanao, Philippines. He is accused of defrauding more than 600 victims, primarily Chinese nationals.

Yang entered Thailand late last year using a Dominican Republic passport and had been hiding in a rented house in Chonburi. Authorities located him through biometric facial recognition technology during their investigation.
