Oura Ring 4 has dropped by almost 50%, making it a brilliant smart ring at this price

Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days sale is under way, and there are plenty of tech discounts to dig through. One of the best I’ve spotted is on the Oura Ring 4, which has had a big, big price cut.

The Oura Ring 4 is now just £189, down from £349. That’s a 46-percent saving on the previous-generation smart ring.

The catch is that only the silver version is this cheap. The other colours cost more. And, sadly, there’s no equivalent deal in the US.

Oura Ring 4 (Silver)

UK deal: was £349, now £189.05 – save 46%

The Oura Ring 5 is the 5-star ring currently sitting top of our best smart ring guide, but its predecessor is still a great option, especially at this price. In our Oura Ring 4 review, we gave it 4 out of 5 and called it one of the most accomplished smart rings out there.

Here’s what you get:

• Smaller and lighter than ever: the sensors are recessed, so it’s more comfortable than earlier Oura rings, and the ring no longer has to sit in a particular position to read your heart rate reliably
• Reliable sleep and step tracking: we found sleep tracking arguably better than what wrist-based systems offer, and it’s far less bulky to wear to bed than a smartwatch
• Deep analysis in the app: easy-to-read scores out of 100 for sleep, activity and readiness, plus an AI Advisor that explains what your metrics mean
• Automatic activity detection: it picks up walks and other activities automatically, which you can confirm in the app later
• Battery life: Oura claims around eight days, though we’d expect more like five or six

You’ll also need to factor in Oura’s subscription, which is £5.99 per month or £69.99 per year after a free month’s trial. That’s worth weighing up alongside the ring’s price.

If you want a smart ring for a holistic view of your sleep, activity and general wellbeing, the Oura Ring 4 is hard to fault at under £190. If you’d rather have the latest and greatest, check out the Oura Ring 5, but for the money, the Ring 4 is the better deal.
