iPhone Duo’s most impressive rival could launch in January
Every manufacturer worth its salt is working on a wide foldable – if they haven’t launched one already – to take on the iPhone Duo. The most impressive yet could be coming this January.
We’ve known that Honor was working on a wide foldable to rival the iPhone Duo for some time now. However, tipster Smart Pikachu has just named the date when we might expect to see the fruit of its labour.
According to a new Weibo post, the Honor wide foldable will be announced in January.
That’s a little late to market considering we’ve been cooing over the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 since July, but it could well be worth the wait.

Honor wide foldable specs
According to a report from that same month, Honor’s wide foldable will pack a 7.6-inch inner screen and a 5.5-inch outer screen – so far, so normal – as well as a 7000mAh battery. That battery spec would be a real turn up for the book(-style-foldable)s.
Samsung’s attempt features a weedy 4800mAh battery, while even the recently revealed Xiaomi 18 Fold ‘only’ packs a 6000mAh cell.
Here’s another eye-catching spec for the Honor foldable: it’ll feature both a 200Mp main camera and a dedicated periscope telephoto. Xiaomi got there first with a similar offering, but still – that’s pretty darned good for this new form of foldable.
There’s every reason to believe that Honor’s new device will be competitive. The Honor Magic V6 (title image) is one of the best full-sized foldables on the market, thanks to an ultra-slim, premium design, excellent displays, and brilliant cameras.
If it does indeed launch in January, it could well do so alongside the Honor Magic 9, which has just been officially confirmed for a January rollout.
