Xiaomi 18 leaks: The ultimate compact camera phone?
Xiaomi fans may not need to go Pro to get the advanced camera treatment, as key details concerning the regular Xiaomi 18 emerge.
Last week saw the China unveiling of the Xiaomi 18 Pro after a lot of leaks and rumours. The stand-out spec is probably the presence of two meaty-looking 200Mp cameras.
However, we’ve now received word of the all-but-forgotten Xiaomi 18 (no Pro), and it might not be a slouch in the camera department itself.
According to tipster Panda is Bald (direct translation), the Xiaomi 18 will also feature two 200Mp cameras. The main camera will feature a large 1/1.28-inch sensor, while the telephoto will extend to a 3x zoom length.
There’ll also be a 50Mp ultra-wide, just like the Xiaomi 18 Pro. Essentially, it looks like the regular model will get all of the Pro’s top camera features within a much more compact design, which is rare among modern phones.

Elsewhere, we learn that the Xiaomi 18 will feature a 6.4-inch 1.5K display, a large 7200mAh battery, and 100W wired charging (plus a wireless provision).
It won’t be a slouch in the performance stakes either, with the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip running the show.
The Weibo post claims that Xiaomi will launch its regular model some time in December.
Last year we found the regular Xiaomi 17 to be a “compact and capable” flagship phone with excellent performance, a beautiful display, and superb battery life.
In a market that’s increasingly light on compelling compact phone options, it stood out.
We’re still hopeful that the Xiaomi 18 will make its way to Europe, but it doesn’t appear as if Xiaomi is pushing it quite as hard as with this year’s Pro range.
