Grand Theft Auto VI: where to pre-order the year’s biggest gaming release
Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled for release on 19th November 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and there’s nowhere better to pre-order your copy than CyberPowerPC UK.
Pre-ordering means you won’t need to worry about heading out to get your copy on release day, only to find the stores have sold out. A pre-ordered copy drops through your door, and there’s an extra bonus to pre-ordering with CyberPowerPC UK.
Get your pre-order in now, and you’ll receive the Vintage Vice City Pack, a flashback to when the neon burned brightest featuring a timeless ’55 Vapid Stanier sedan and garage alongside Ocean Beach, decadent outfits and hairstyles for both of the game’s main characters, and an iconic weapon pattern that echoes the excesses of the past.
Who are the leads?
Following the extended look at the game that aired on Netflix in August, we know a bit more about the game. The two main characters were introduced in the game’s first trailer, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos form the core of the story, which is primarily set in Vice City, within a fictional US state, Leonida, heavily based on Florida.
Lucia, a Liberty City native recently released from prison, arrives in the state of Leonida chasing the elusive dream of the good life. Eager to break free from her past, she sees a partnership with Jason as her path to freedom and prosperity.

Jason brings his own street-level history to the dynamic. Raised among career grifters with a background rooted in drug running, he understands the harsh realities of the illicit trade.
Together, the pair forge a Bonnie and Clyde-style bond built from mutual need, ambition, and an intense reliance on one another. As they dive deeper into a life of crime, their survival ultimately hinges on whether they can truly trust one another. According to Rockstar, they “find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America,” which certainly sounds like the basis of a GTA game to us.
What’s on the map?
The original Grand Theft Auto: Vice City was released in 2002 for the PlayStation 2, and was set in 1986 for a Miami Vice vibe, but the new game brings things up to date. Its modern-day setting still has room for neon lights, sports cars and crowded, sandy beaches, but eagle-eyed fans have been able to draw comparisons between locations from the trailers and those from the original game. This means a return to the Ocean View Hotel, a safe house in the PS2 game, and likely a place for our putative gangsters to hole up this time around too.
Elsewhere, a series of ‘postcards’ released by developer Rockstar Games shows locations beyond Vice City. The Leonida Keys, a string of islands extending into the ocean, has a clear real-world parallel in the Florida Keys.
Elsewhere, you’ll find:
- Mount Kalaga National Park: green and lush
- Port Gellhorn: cheap motels, shut-down attractions and empty strip malls
- Ambrosia: an industrial and agricultural city
- Grassrivers: the Everglades, hopefully with airboats and alligators
The world of GTA 6 will be a free-roaming one, with the ability to get in a car and visit these landmarks. And speaking of cars, the trailers have been full of convertibles and muscle cars, every inch the American dream. We can expect plenty of other vehicles too, some associated with side activities such as dirt bikes and jetskis, while a float plane flies through one of the postcard scenes. And of course you’ll have the series’ trademark radio stations to listen to while you’re driving, likely with an extensive licensed music score and hopefully some raucous DJs, though we won’t hear from Lazlow Jones, as he’s parted company with developer Rockstar Games.

What else has changed?
One of the biggest changes we can expect in GTA 6 is an overhaul of the Wanted level system. Previously, the Wanted level ran from no-stars to five, with the higher levels provoking an escalating police response to your activities up to and including tanks and automatic weapons. To lose stars, and calm the heat down a bit, you could hide, change your appearance, or even get on a train.
In GTA 6 we can expect a sixth star, and for the police to be more reactive to your actions. In one of the trailers, Lucia sets a car on fire before swapping to a van to escape, carefully navigating the city to avoid law enforcement. We can expect the cops to build a criminal profile of the lead duo based on their actions, but it’s not clear yet exactly how this will work.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is shaping up to be the biggest entertainment release of the year, so much so that other games have moved their release dates to avoid being out at the same time and completely overshadowed by this videogame behemoth, which is being developed by a worldwide team of artists and coders, not just the Edinburgh-based Rockstar North of previous instalments.
GTA 6 doesn’t currently have a PC release date, so if you need something to play it on the moment it’s released, CyberPowerPC UK has PlayStation 5 consoles in stock, with the 825GB Digital Edition at £519.99 (digital order pre-loading begins 12th November) and the 1TB console, with a built-in Blu-ray drive, at £569.99.
