Xiaomi SU7 series tops 500,000 cumulative deliveries: A Practical Look

Xiaomi EV, the electric vehicle unit of Xiaomi (HKEX: 1810), said Monday that cumulative deliveries of its SU7 sedan series have surpassed 500,000 units, 28.5 months after deliveries began.

The first-generation SU7 was launched on March 28, 2024, with deliveries beginning several days later on April 3.

The high-performance SU7 Ultra sedan was launched on February 27, 2025, while the new-generation SU7 was rolled out on March 19, 2026.

The sedan series delivered 21,044 units in July, up 3.09% from June but down 13.79% from a year earlier, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

Including the YU7 SUV (sport utility vehicle) series, Xiaomi EV has now delivered more than 760,000 vehicles cumulatively.

Xiaomi EV's growth has slowed significantly this year following rapid expansion in 2025. The company delivered 31,267 vehicles in July, up just 2.68% year-on-year and down 9.99% from June.

Deliveries in the first 7 months totaled 216,322 units, up 14.83% year-on-year and equivalent to 39% of its full-year target of 550,000 vehicles.

To meet that target, Xiaomi EV would need to deliver nearly 67,000 vehicles a month on average over the remaining 5 months, more than double its current monthly pace.

The SU7 delivered 101,540 units in the January-July period, down 43.62% year-on-year, while the YU7 series delivered 114,782 units.

Xiaomi introduced its second vehicle series, Sky Nomad, on July 30, marking its first entry into the extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) segment.

The 7-seat flagship N90 Max has a pre-sales starting price of 299,900 yuan ($44,190), while the 5-seat N70 Max starts at 259,900 yuan. Both models are scheduled to go on sale in September.

The pricing undercuts the Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) Model Y L, which starts at 339,000 yuan, and puts the vehicles in direct competition with offerings from Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) and Huawei-backed Aito.

Xiaomi EV will display its full vehicle lineup, including the N70 Max and N90 Max, at the 2026 Chengdu Auto Show starting later this week.
