Happy Car Week Eve, to those who celebrate! Some of our community will undoubtedly be in Monterey soon (check out the Mohr Imports Local Partners Insider’s Guide if you’re planning on it), but many of us will continue to live vicariously through features like this, our weekly roundup of strange and interesting cars currently live on the pages of BaT. This week we have some impressive classic and vintage racers (both real and re-created), Russian armor, a good amount of Pininfarina, and the biggest rat rod you’ve ever seen. During Car Week, it is easy to come to the conclusion that all of the interesting cars in the world are concentrated in Monterey, California. Well, we’re here to remind you that the world is a big place, and in fact many of the more interesting vehicles one might encounter are here on this very website. Summer is winding down—has your workplace emptied out? For those of us remaining, it can get awfully lonely. Fortunately, BaT’s list of Weird & Wonderful cars is here to provide a distraction, if but for a time. We have a curated selection of the strangest, coolest, and most interesting cars found on BaT within the last seven days. But we say that with a caveat: our “short list” of candidates numbered more than 50 this week, and while we could not feature them all below, we can guarantee that there are a lot more to find over on our Live Auctions Page.

There is no slow season at BaT: only busy, busier, and borderline swamped, which usually occurs during the summer and early autumn. With nearly 1,300 listings currently live on the site, even we have a hard time keeping up! But we love to take time each week to pick out a handful of the most interesting and significant vehicles from the last seven days, just for you.

We know it’d be healthy to spend some time away from your screens this Labor Day weekend—still, we’re doing our darnedest to make sure you won’t stop looking at and thinking about all variety of strange and special vehicles. We closed nearly 1,400 auctions in the last seven days and have since replaced them with 1,100 more, so to save you some time we’ve done the hard work of compiling this compact list of odd or noteworthy cars, trucks, boats, bikes, and leather jumpsuits on BaT.

It’s been a short week thanks to Labor Day, but for many of us that just meant packing five days of work into four. The real tragedy of this is that it likely left you with even less time to peruse the endless scroll of interesting vehicles that arrived on our pages over the last several days. Do not despair! Your humble editors have taken it upon themselves to look at every single listing, and select a small list of the most unusual and notable cars from the crowded field.
