The whole crew is back to discuss their vintage racing experiences at Road America, interpretations of spec between events, the race car parade to Elkhart Lake, Spotted Cow, notable names at Laguna Seca this weekend, Malibu Grand Prix, and watchlist highlights from this very exciting and high-volume time at BaT.
Another blockbuster week has brought over 1,200 cars across our pages, and there are 1,100 auctions live as we write this piece. If you tried to stay on top of that volume of cars, you’d probably wind up unemployed. Fortunately, this is part of the job for us here at BaT, so we’re happy to go through everything and present some of the strangest and most interesting vehicles to you each week. We must always note that the list below is by no means comprehensive; there’s lots more to enjoy on our live auctions page.
The NASCAR Classics YouTube channel has lately become one of our favorite corners on the internet. Besides dozens of hours of full-race replays, there are short-form Classic Clips featuring everything else in between. They recently released some special footage from the vault, and it’s the subject of today’s highlight: a sub-seven-minute video featuring two larger-than-life personalities from opposite ends of the motorsports spectrum—“The King” Richard Petty and Sir Jackie Stewart.
BaT member hannahlynnanderson was enthralled by her new 1960 Lincoln Continental Mark V convertible the moment she laid eyes on it during a March 2025 BaT auction listed by m100man. She won the Mark V and wrote in with an update:
We absolutely love our first BaT purchase, our 1960 Lincoln Continental convertible, which we have dubbed “Big Blue” due to her almost 19-foot length.
BaT member ZGJim recently wrote in with an update afterputting a couple thousand miles on the Ducati ST4S that he won in April 2025.
The seller, Ethan, was great to deal with. I had a previous commitment scheduled, so I had to wait about 10 days before I could fly to Phoenix, Arizona, for the bike. That gave me time to receive the title and register and plate the bike before I even got to it. Ethan had it ready to go when I arrived at his home!

A number of common themes emerged throughout the 100+ comment thread, including the ‘ol screwdriver through a stuck oil filter trick (and the ensuing mess afterward) as well as a surprising number of tales of mistaken transmission drain bolts for the engine oil drain plug. We loved reading them all, but one comment particularly grabbed our attention. So that means we’re exercising our Editorial Privilege by awarding the prize to BaT member @getyourfreakon and his rather fiery story:

Bring a Trailer’s community is a swirling vortex of people from all demographics, from heads of industry to entertainment personalities to us average Joes—it covers the full gamut. And within the huge expanse, there are also stars. The elite. These BaT celestial bodies, sitting in the shadows and hidden behind a username. They are the driving force behind many of the vehicles we dream about—the ones we get to actually experience, if we are lucky. These people are the designers and engineers who make said objects burst to life. Getting to meet a vehicle designer is akin to a Bible salesman getting to meet Moses in the eyes of the automotive enthusiast, so you can rightfully forgive me for flipping the script here a bit as I try to describe one of my most memorable automotive purchases.
The creative lead at Donut talks about the new Corvette ZR1, run-ins with Horacio Pagani, branded soap, Car Week traffic, a mystery air dam, BMW window regulators, the $850 911 he bought on BaT, new TV-oriented shows on Donut, price/value in car mods, Y2K spinners, the Great Host Departure, being a Civic liker, and his troubled diesel Cayenne.
8/20 Update: We have a winner!
From the outset, it was a competition between the workhorse F-100 and the nimble B16B-swapped Civic. In the end, the Ford ran away with the win, putting a serious “dent” in the final tally by snagging practically half of the 100+ votes. Congratulations to its new owner, @BOBNJAZ!
BaT user adsinger secured a 1981 Honda Motocompo and a battery-powered Honda Motocompacto, both of which he won from Premierautofl in an April 2025 combo BaT auction.

Despite an obsession with Spanish Bultaco motorcycles, I have long held a soft spot for the wacky Honda Motocompo trunk scooter. They are relatively rare, especially here in the Sunshine State.
