Here’s eastEnders legend drops biggest hint yet that iconic character is returning from the dead after months of rumours

AN iconic EastEnders actress has just dropped a huge hint that she’s going to be returning to the show.

The soap star’s character died in a tragic accident in 2017, drowning in a swimming pool on New Year’s Day.

Her sister also died in the pool, making for a majorly tragic double death storyline.

But it appears that Rita Simons, the actress who portrayed Roxy Mitchell, is stirring the pot and suggesting she may return to screens once more.

A fan running a page on TikTok called “EE Theories” was speculating that Roxy and her sister Ronnie were in fact both still alive.

The fan also ran through a list of reasons why having the ladies come back to the show would be a great move for EastEnders, providing a major shock.

But what the fan didn’t bargain on was Rita herself seeing the TikTok and leaving a comment on the video.

Rita left a simple gift of a side eye, neither confirming or denying the fan’s theory in a suspicious manner.

Others noticing how Rita reacted have been flooding in with comments about the theory online, hoping to see the theory proven true.

One user said: “Maybe Rita could come back as Roxy’s identical twin.”

A second shared: “I think eastenders should bring them back it’s been a while since we’ve had like a big storyline.”

A third added: “please bring back legends Ronnie and Roxy.”

If Roxy returns, it wouldn’t be the first time she’s appeared back on the show since passing away.

She briefly appeared in a scene in 2023 where her daughter Amy had a dream about her.
