IT maybe one of Channel 4’s cosiest shows on TV but behind the B&B doors, a whole host of scandals have hit Four In A Bed.
Just last week, Channel 4 were forced to axe an entire week of episodes from streaming sites amid a cheating controversy which is believed to have led to a huge social media backlash.

The reality show sees B&B owners go head to head to see which of their establishments is deemed the best value for money.
But a recent week of episodes went so awry that Channel 4 execs deleted the entire thing from their online library.
It axed the episodes from streaming on Thursday but crucially the final Friday episode still aired on linear TV live exposing the ‘game-playing’ at hand.
One duo opted to pay their fellow B&B hosts nothing – a move that sparked accusations of “game-playing”.
But it is far from the only scandal to rock the cosy TV favourite – and there could be more on the way thanks to an unexpected rise in Gen Z viewers after a slew of clips went viral on TikTok.
An insider told The Sun: “Out of nowhere, Four In A Bed has become one of Channel 4’s top-performing shows for clips on TikTok.
“Many of them are the fieriest moments on the show but bosses have played into that.
“However, with more eyes on the programme comes with more potential controversies.
“A world of scandals have been uncovered and fans are chomping at the bit to see even more!”
So here are some of the programme’s most shocking moments and stories.
Double Cheating scandal

One week of Four In A Bed was left rocked by a double cheating scandal thanks to a ‘sly’ host and his strategic payments.
In incredible scenes, hotel owner Saban admitted to cheating during the payment day after he thought his co-stars had been cheating on the show.
The disgruntled businessman suggsted that Emma Louise, who runs a B&B, and glamping site owners Ami and Mark had been “game-playing” and had been sneaky with their under-payments in a bid to win the show.
As such, Saban went on to over-pay the only other competitor in the game by a whopping £250 – just to ensure that the pairs he accused of cheating could not reasonably win the game.
With the other two couples stumped, and flatly denying cheating, it meant the episode was rocked by a double shock with the B&B owners at each other’s throats accusing the other of strategic game-play.
Revealing his huge grudge against the other contestants, Saban said on the show: “And the reason (I overpaid) is there’s no way I can allow you two to win. It was a game play from the start.”
He then added: “The way I see it, I cheated to stop the other cheaters winning.”
Host QUITS mid-stay

Another shocking moment came when a B&B host QUIT the programme mid-way through his turn as the host.
Fans watching an episode, believed to have first been shown last year, were left flummoxed when the owner of a B&B walked out on the contest mid-episode.
Andy Pattison welcomed the guests to his B&B in Blackpool and entertained them as usual on day one but by time morning broke after their overnight stay at his premisis, he had spectacularly walked out.
As such, no breakfast was served and the show followed the fellow B&B’ers eating at a local cafe with no judging or any point to the episode.
An on-screen voiceover declared: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, host Andy is unable to continue in the competition.
“So, this morning, his guests are venturing out to a local cafe.”
A source told The Sun at the time: “Andy opted to leave the show due to personal reasons.”
Inappropriate behaviour

One contestant who took part in the show previously told The Sun how one of their co-stars was consistently reprimanded for displaying inappropriate behaviour on the programme.
James, the owner of Uplawmoor Hotel in Glasgow, told us last year: “Stephen [co-star] is probably, he’s pleasant, he’s nice enough, thinks he’s funny.
“But maybe just slightly inappropriate with his comments and his jokes. And I don’t just mean for the TV, I just mean in general.”
James continued: “He kept wearing inappropriate T-shirts that would say inappropriate things that he obviously was asked to take off and sometimes he would just say, no, I’m not.
“And I don’t know if it’s been blurred or, because you don’t really see them on the show, so it’s either been blurred or they’ve asked him to put his zipper on or something like that.
“So there were certain things that was just a wee bit like attention seeking.”
Stephen and his wife Margaret own Clachan Garden B&B in the highlands and also caused a stir with their no shoes policy while inside on the show.
Nightmare experience

Meanwhile, a pair who took part in the programme have insisted they found the whole ordeal a “nightmare” in a scathing review of the programme.
Nigel Dixon and Damian Bailey appeared on the Channel 4 reality show in 2022 but spoke out against Channel 4‘s production team claiming the director was responsible for “stirring up conflict” behind-the-scenes.
Writing about their experience on their website, Nigel and Damian detailed how they felt the series director “deliberately” amped up tensions behind the scenes, making filming a really unpleasant experience.
“As the day unfolded and we continued filming with the director, however, tensions began to escalate. His actions seemed deliberately aimed at stirring up conflict between us,” they wrote, before revealing that food which had been provided for them was completely inedible.
“To make matters worse, the lunch provided was an utter disappointment. Cold, burnt, and barely edible, it was food I wouldn’t even have served to my dog,” the couple explained.
Nigel and Damian added: “At that point, we had reached our breaking point. We both voiced our frustrations, threatening to bring the filming to an abrupt halt before the evening drinks.
“Liz and Tracey joined our protest, echoing our desire to put an end to this unpleasant ordeal.”
