Strictly fans hit out at bosses for doing one star ‘dirty’ as they insist ‘they’ve been sabotaged’

STRICTLY Come Dancing fans have hit out at BBC bosses for doing one star “dirty” – claiming their Icons Week dance had been “sabotaged” as a result.

Viewers of the iconic series took to X in their droves following Saturday night’s live episode, which saw celebs Cach Mercer and Jaime Winstone joint top of the leaderboard.

Though those at home reckon Paralympic champ Dame Sarah Storey, 48, was dealt a raw deal with her Tango track.

She took on the lively routine with partner Julian Caillon but they ended the night bottom of the leaderboard with a score of 21.

Viewers think the Tango song choice – this being Shania Twain‘s That Don’t Impress Me Much – was in part to blame.

One was quick to post on social media: “They did Sarah so dirty with that song for a Tango”.

A second put: “I love Shania Twain but unfortunately I didn’t love that dance. Didn’t give tango vibes for me and didn’t fit with the feel of the song either”.

A third mused: “Sarah: tango to a country song, not sure what to think about this. not sure this worked for me. 5.5/10?”

Another ranted: “I’m sorry but I’m calling sabotage.

“How are you going to give Sarah a Tango and give her a poppy song to dance to? I feel like this theme did them a disservice. Massively”.

It remains to be seen if Sarah is in the Dance Off this week, and if she keeps her spot in the show, on Strictly‘s results show airing tonight.

In another show shock on Saturday, Delta Goodrem missed the episode due to a rib injury.

Meanwhile, fans have suggested show favourite Dani Dyer is at risk this week due to a worrying show “curse”.

Bookies have today confirmed to The Sun EastEnders alum Lacey Turner is the star tipped to win – despite not getting a score over 30 yet.

She is ranked with odds of 6/4 to pick up the Glitter Ball trophy but Tabby Stoecker is now the clear second-favourite at 5/1.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes told us: “This year’s Strictly race is still wide open, and with Lacey still yet to live up to her favourite tag, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the chasing pack close the gap in the next couple of weeks.”
