All my Breeders’ Cup tips for Saturday as the whole sport hopes the awesome Notable Speech can bow out with a bang

MOST would agree the greatest speech of all time was Martin Luther King’s ‘I have a Dream’ in 1963.

But in equine terms it’s surely NOTABLE SPEECH.

And for many racing fans across the globe the dream is the chestnut son of Dubawi retires in America tonight as one of Godolphin’s greatest horses should he land back-to-back victories in the Breeders’ Cup Mile.

It’s a huge night for the raiders – with every Breeders’ Cup race form Keeneland live on Sky Sports Racing – as the likes of sprinting ace Comanche Brave and unstoppable Blue Bolt tackle the best the US has to offer.

Notable Speech, whose grandsire is Sheikh Mohammed’s legendary superstar Dubai Millennium, is out to gain his eighth success at racing’s highest level and has the chance to take his winning prize-money tally to over £4million.

Quite simply, Charlie Appleby’s challenger has a blistering finishing kick when on top of his game, and it’s allowed him to not only secure a Classic success in the 2,000 Guineas, but also bang in a Sussex, two Woodbine Miles, a Lockinge and City of York Stakes over seven furlongs.

In last year’s Breeders’ Cup Mile Notable Speech sprinted away from his field, and if he’s in the same form later today he should provide Appleby with an astonishing fifth win in the contest in the last six years.

William Buick will do the steering in a race which also features the 1,000 Guineas heroine True Love, as well as Lake Forest, bidding to try and give William Haggas a first Breeders’ Cup success.

The action gets under way late afternoon UK time with the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint over 7f on dirt.

Ways and Means will be a strong favourite, but she’s been a beaten market leader in this before.

I’ll throw a few quid each-way on EXPLORA for Bob Baffert and Jose Ortiz.

My filly doesn’t have a great draw in stall 11, but I like the fact she stays a bit further and she was second in the Juvenile Fillies at Del Mar last year.

Next it’s the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint.

Bacio will be hard to beat but he might find the extended 5f half a furlong too far.

There’s no doubt for me July Cup victor COMANCHE BRAVE is a huge player for Billy Loughnane and Donnacha O’Brien.

With any normal start he should get a good position in stall seven and remember he won over 5f last time at his very first try at the trip.

The Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile is wide open.

FORGED STEEL is a very strong stayer and comes into the race in good form. He has an each-way chance.

BLUE BOLT goes in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf over an extended 1m1f and must deny the Irish 1,000 Guineas heroine Precise.

The latter ran well at close to this trip over Arc weekend in Longchamp, but Blue Bolt is a better filly than Precise on recent evidence and it’s possible this trip will bring out further improvement in her.

Stall 12 is not ideal, but the multiple European Group 1 winner is better than these class-wise.

Colin Keane gets the big chance for Andrew Balding.

The Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Sprint over 6f on dirt can fall to ENGLISHMAN who looks to be one of the bankers on the card and can outstay and outclass TO Elvis.

Also on the dirt is the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Distaff over 1m1f.

NITROGEN should be another short-priced winner for Jose Ortiz and Mark Casse.

Second to Scylla at Del Mar in this race last year, the filly has been in great form of late, including when at very short odds and landing a Grade 2 at Belmont Park last time.

A massive European challenge for the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Turf over 1m4f.

If BENVENUTO CELLINI is going to win a big race this season – albeit he took a poor Irish Derby – then this is it.

He’s got a great spot in stall two and while he was sluggish in the Arc from a low draw Aidan O’Brien has said the team has worked on that.

The son of Frankel is at an each-way price and has ideal conditions.

Ryan Moore is the man asked to get the job done in a race also including Arc third and second Diamond Necklace and Bay City Roller, Kenntucky Downs one-two Tiffany and Ethical Diamond – the Turf’s defending champion – as well as Irish Champion Stakes thief Hotazhell.

Finally, the big one of the week in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Classic over 1m2f on dirt.

Magnitude is a big late scratch for this.

Forever Young is the safe bet.

But I really want SOVEREIGNTY to score as I have no doubt he’s the most talented horse in the race.

The former Kentucky Derby winner was back to winning ways in the Whitney at Saratoga beating the very talented and aforementioned Nitrogen.

There should be a strong gallop to run at which he will love under Junior Alvarado for Bill Mott.

What a night ahead. Enjoy. Yeeehaaa!
