This New ‘Yellowjackets’ Season Four Picture Is Fascinating You Should Know

It feels like Christmas has come early to me because this week, we have been blessed with a handful of new images from the upcoming fourth and final season of the hit horror-thriller series Yellowjackets, also known as my favorite television show of all time.

And just when I thought the amazing news was slowing down, the amazing folks over at Variety released yet another new picture from the fourth season, and this one is perhaps the most interesting one yet. While the other newly released photos reveal more or less what we imagined – such as the team back in school, and new looks at Callie (Sarah Desjardins), Jeff (Warren Kole), Shauna (Melanie Lynskey) and the others – this new one is full of intrigue.

The photo in question shows the team all huddled in the remains of the crashed plane, all of whom look extremely emotional while a blindfolded Shauna seems to be trying to talk to the dead, holding a knife attached to a string, while she, too, looks to be quite distraught.

Of course, the popular theory is that they are holding a seance to try and contact the spirit of Jackie, which, if true, will certainly be one of the most devastating gut-punches of the season, particularly for Shauna obviously. Something else that’s quite mind-blowing? The fact that this scene is from episode eight of season four.

Now, to me, this confirms the three timeline theory. There’s simply no way that Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson are going to go more than half of the season before the girls are shown to be rescued. We’re not spending the vast majority of our time in the wilderness this season. I believe we’ll have the adult timeline, the teen timeline of the girls readjusting to life back in New Jersey, and the third timeline will be their final few days in the wilderness before they get rescued.

Also, what’s important to note is that this shot looks strikingly similar to a scene that was featured in season one, episode five “Blood Hive,” in which Jackie convinces the girls to hold a seance inside of the cabin. In the scene, Shauna is also holding a string with a knife attached to it, trying to talk to the dead. And in this scene, who’s to Shauna’s right? Lottie. Just like in this newly released season four image.
