Beat on Track Zumba event planned at Hua Hin Railway Station

Preparations are underway for the Beat on Track Zumba event at Hua Hin Railway Station, with Hua Hin City Municipality planning a large outdoor exercise activity later this month.

The event, officially titled “Beat on Track: Dance Fun on the Rails”, will take place on Saturday, 23 May 2026, from 5pm onwards.

On 7 May, Hua Hin Mayor Nopporn Wuttikul assigned Deputy Mayor Busaba Choksuchat to chair a meeting to prepare for the activity.

The municipality said the event follows the growing popularity of aerobic dancing and other dance-based exercise activities across Thailand.

The activity is intended to bring together exercise groups from across the city and encourage more people to take part in group fitness.

Dance leaders from Hua Hin will join the event, including instructors in Zumba, aerobics, baslop and line dancing.
Organisers said the event is aimed at creating an energetic but accessible atmosphere for people who enjoy exercise, as well as those who may want to try dance-based fitness for the first time.

Hua Hin Railway Station has been chosen as the venue for the event, giving the activity a central and recognisable location.

The event will be open to health-conscious residents and visitors who want to join the group exercise session.
Further details about participation and arrangements are expected to be announced by Hua Hin City Municipality ahead of the event.

British authorities have seized counterfeit football jerseys and other fake merchandise worth more than £18 million during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. According to officials, demand for fake jerseys surged during the tournament. However, authorities warned that these products are not only illegal but may also pose serious safety risks. As part of Operation Blockswitch, the Police Intellectual Property Office (PIPCU) recovered more than 220,000 counterfeit football-related items across the UK. During a raid on a warehouse in Birmingham, officers seized 1,618 fake jerseys, including counterfeit shirts bearing the names of star players such as Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland. Officials said the dyes and materials used in counterfeit jerseys could be harmful, particularly to children’s skin. Tests conducted by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service also found that fake jerseys are far more flammable than genuine kits and can melt quickly when exposed to fire. Experts have warned that consumers who buy counterfeit products because of their lower prices may unknowingly fund organized criminal networks. They also noted that such products do not meet required health and safety standards.

Jayden Seales strikes early to put Pakistan in tro…

West Indies pacer Jayden Seales struck twice before lunch to leave Pakistan reeling in pursuit of 211 on day four of the first Test at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy on Tuesday. Imam-ul-Haq made five while Azan Awais could only manage three, leaving Pakistan at 21-2 inside five overs. Salman Ali Agha could not open his account and was pinned lbw by Seales, reducing Pakistan to a dire 25-3. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan then negotiated the remainder of the session to steady the innings. Earlier, Mohammad Abbas produced a superb bowling performance, taking a five-wicket haul to bowl out West Indies for 181 in their second innings after they had resumed the day on 126-7. The home side’s tail frustrated Pakistan early on, with Shamar Joseph and Kemar Roach adding 28 more runs in four overs during a 61-run stand that took West Indies’ lead past the 180-run mark. Joseph top-scored with a useful 38 off 27 balls, striking four sixes and a four, before Mohammad Ali eventually dismissed him with a slower delivery to break the partnership. The West Indies tail continued to frustrate Pakistan as Roach added another 15 runs with Jomeel Warrican to take the lead closer to 200. Mohammad Abbas then snared Roach, who made 18, to claim his fourth wicket before bowling Warrican for 14 to complete his seventh five-wicket haul in Test cricket. For Pakistan, Abbas returned figures of 5 for 22 in 15.5 overs, while Mohammad Ali and Khurram Shahzad claimed two wickets apiece. With Pakistan’s chase off to a disastrous start, the pressure now falls on Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan to rebuild the innings and guide their team towards the 211-run target on a challenging pitch.

Neymar answers critics with poker celebration on Santos return

Brazilian star Neymar marked his long-awaited return to action for Santos by scoring twice and responding to recent criticism with a playful goal celebration inspired by poker. The veteran forward helped Santos come from behind to secure a 2-2 draw against bottom-placed Chapecoense in Brazil’s Serie A on Saturday. The 34-year-old made his first appearance for Santos after spending two-and-a-half months on the sidelines. His return came at a crucial stage of the season, with Santos battling to avoid relegation from Brazil’s top flight. Although the draw earned the club an important point, Santos remain in danger, sitting just one point above the relegation zone. Neymar had come under renewed criticism earlier in the week after taking part in a poker tournament while his Santos teammates were playing a Copa Sudamericana match in Venezuela. His decision sparked debate among fans and pundits, with many questioning his priorities during his injury lay-off. The Brazilian forward appeared to respond to those comments after opening the scoring. Following his first goal, Neymar celebrated by pretending to deal playing cards, an apparent reference to the poker tournament that had attracted criticism. Moments later, he added another light-hearted celebration by using the corner flag to imitate a golf swing, further acknowledging the public scrutiny surrounding his off-field activities. Despite the criticism, Neymar delivered when Santos needed him most. His two goals helped the struggling side recover from a difficult position and earn a valuable draw. While the result did not move Santos away from the relegation battle, it provided encouragement as the club fights to remain in Brazil’s top division. The match also marked Neymar’s first appearance since Brazil’s disappointing FIFA World Cup campaign. The country’s all-time leading goalscorer recently announced the end of his international career after Brazil were eliminated by Norway in the Round of 16, bringing an end to one of the most successful international careers in the nation’s history. Having stepped away from international football, Neymar is now expected to focus entirely on helping Santos improve their domestic fortunes. His experience and leadership will be vital as the club attempts to avoid relegation during the remainder of the season. Fans welcomed Neymar’s return, with many praising his immediate impact despite the recent controversy. His performance demonstrated that he remains capable of making the difference on the pitch, even as discussions about his lifestyle continue off it. While his poker-themed celebration is likely to generate further debate, Neymar made one thing clear through his display against Chapecoense: he intends to answer his critics with performances rather than words. With Santos still facing a difficult fight for survival, the club will hope their star forward can maintain his fitness and continue producing decisive performances in the weeks ahead.
