Coyote Vs. Acme Releases Final Trailer For Long-Awaited Theatrical Release
Coyote Vs. Acme has been one of the most talked-about animation/live-action hybrid films in recent memory, and for good reason. Originally, the Warner Bros production was set to hit theaters in 2023, though thanks to decisions made behind-the-scenes, the Will Forte/John Cena picture almost didn’t make its way to the public. The movie was shelved by the entertainment studio, but was luckily picked up by Ketchum Entertainment for a release this summer. In the final trailer for the August release, Coyote Vs. Acme is digging deeper into its premise while sharing that quite a few Looney Tunes are set to make an appearance in the previously canceled film.
For those who might not know the premise of this previously canceled film, Coyote Vs. Acme follows the Coyote as he finds himself suing the Acme Corporation for creating scores of traps that blew up in his face. Thanks to Will Forte’s character, Kevin Avery, Coyote is seizing the opportunity to get money for the pain and suffering he’s undergone while attempting to capture the Roadrunner. While Acme is seemingly willing to settle, with their attorney Buddy Crane, aka John Cena, leading the case, the Coyote turns down one million dollars in the footage, proving he’s playing for keeps. While this might be a movie focusing on the Coyote and Road Runner, the final trailer proves that there are quite a few Looney Tunes set to appear, as you can see below.
The Looney Tunes Are Conquering Theaters
Despite running into some wild roadblocks on its way to theaters with this live-action hybrid, the Looney Tunes don’t seem to be slowing down any time soon. Alongside the upcoming The Cat in the Hat animated film, a new short will focus on Daffy Duck and a rather unique soccer experience in “Daffy Season.” Earlier this year, the upcoming short played at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, meaning that various reports found their way online regarding the subject matter for the theatrical release. Despite being a Daffy vehicle, both Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd are also reportedly set to appear, according to reviews.
While a future Looney Tunes feature-length film hasn’t been confirmed, the franchise is still making new properties all the same. This year saw the release of Looney Tunes Gokko, an anime adaptation that reimagined the cast of the cartoon juggernauts in an entirely new way. With Tubi also seeing massive success thanks to streaming the Looney Tunes library, Warner Bros’s biggest animated stars are still taking the spotlight decades following their original arrival to the screen.
