Ex-Ganassi mayor takes Lanao del Sur’s 6th District BARMM seat

COTABATO CITY, Philippines – Hosni Macapodi, former mayor of Ganassi and the bet of the Adiong-led Serbisyong Inklusibo-Alyansang Progresibo Party, topped the Bangsamoro parliamentary electoral race for the 6th District seat of Lanao del Sur.

Macapodi received 33,983 or 55.66% of his district’s votes, according to Lanao del Sur’s total certificates of canvass on the Commission on Elections’ website.

His closest opponent, Jamael Balt, former vice mayor of Bayang and the representative of the United Bangsamoro Justice Party, only got 27,073 or 44.34% of the votes.

Prior to running for the province’s 6th District seat, Macapodi had previously served as an assemblyman in the now-defunct Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Regional Legislative Assembly, representing the 2nd District of Lanao del Sur from 2005 to 2008 and 2013 to 2016. – Rappler.com
