DITP pushes forward “THINK THAILAND: NEXT LEVEL” campaign for FY2026, rolling out 680 projects to empower Thai entrepreneurs for the global market, targeting 142 billion baht in trade value
Ms. Sunanta Kangvalkulkij, Director General, Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), revealed the operational framework for the fiscal year 2026, noting that the department plans to implement more than 680 trade-promotion projects and activities. These initiatives are expected to generate a total trade value of 142 billion baht and benefit over 294,500 entrepreneurs through both domestic and international activities. DITP aims to elevate Thailand’s international trade competitiveness to rank among the top five in Asia by 2027. One of the key strategic initiatives is the expansion of the “THINK THAILAND: NEXT LEVEL” campaign, a major mechanism for conveying Thailand’s national brand. The campaign is designed to enhance the capabilities of Thai entrepreneurs, enabling them to meet global market demands in a concrete and sustainable way.
The operational framework consists of five strategic pillars, as follows:
1. Strengthening Thai products and service businesses through innovation and technology to meet the demands of global megatrends and the emerging economy. Under the concept “Thai to Global: From Local Value to Global Vision,” DITP targets 125.675 billion baht in trade negotiations generated through international trade-promotion activities. The department will accelerate value creation through branding, innovation, and design to align with global megatrends and the emerging economy. Key focus areas include value-added agriculture products that respond to global consumer trends—such as halal products, future foods, health-oriented foods, and sustainability-driven food innovations. DITP will also promote future industries and services, including next-generation automotive products, electric vehicles and auto parts, agricultural and biotechnology industries, and the medical device industry, as well as other high-tech and innovation-driven products. In addition, the department will continue to develop and promote high-potential service businesses by leveraging technology and innovation to enhance value creation. This effort extends to elevating Thai products and services through creative power (Soft Power) across four key industries—games, books, design, and fashion—to strengthen global confidence and reinforce international recognition of Thai offerings.
2. Expanding existing high-potential markets, developing new markets, and increasing the share of Thai exports in the global arena. This includes strengthening Thailand’s presence in major markets such as the United States, the European Union, Japan, ASEAN, and China (including Hong Kong). High-potential markets include India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and others, while emerging potential markets include Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and various countries across Africa. The department will promote market expansion by exploring new marketing channels and accelerating the establishment of strategic partnerships with key trading partners.
3. Promoting e-commerce and the platform economy through the development of Thailand’s online trade platform (Thaitrade.com) and its network of online partners. The department will also enhance the overall environment and supporting factors for e-commerce, while building online trade partnerships with various e-commerce platforms.
4. Enhancing the capabilities of Thai entrepreneurs to prepare them for the transition toward the new economy. This includes providing foundational knowledge on international trade for entrepreneurs and the general public, as well as advancing and expanding marketing and product-related expertise for MSMEs, SMEs, and individuals in the country’s target industries. The department will also develop brand-owning entrepreneurs and exporters to ensure they are equipped to operate successfully in international markets through the New Economy Academy (NEA).
5. Enhancing international trade services through digital technology by applying big data analytics and digital technology to drive organizational transformation and ensure the department remains responsive to rapid changes in today’s environment.
