A County Wexford housing development has been shortlisted for an architectural award…
Van Dijk Architects, an architecture practice based in Dundalk, Louth have been nominated for an award for a housing development in Gorey, Wexford.
Their housing development, Páirc an Aonaigh, delivered for Wexford County Council, has been shortlisted and subsequently commended in the Housing category at the RIAI Annual Awards 2026, which is considered one of the most prestigious architectural awards in Ireland.
Located on the former school site in Gorey town centre, Páirc an Aonaigh provides 30 high-quality social homes designed around sustainability, accessibility, and community.
The project demonstrates how carefully considered public housing can integrate positively into an existing town setting, with features including a car-free communal courtyard, Universal Design homes, and durable, energy-efficient construction.

Speaking to Wexford Weekly, Poppy van Dijk of Van Dijk Architects said:
“The scheme was completed in 2025 within budget and programme, and represents a strong example of how collaboration between Wexford County Council and the design team can deliver high-quality homes that contribute positively to the local community.”
