Here’s motorola Signature 27 launches tomorrow with details teased
Motorola posted a rather cryptic teaser on social media, leading me to suspect it will launch the Signature 27 flagship phone earlier than expected.
Now it has confirmed my suspicion by announcing the device will be unveiled on 22 September to coincide with the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit, taking place in Hawaii.
The Signature 27 will be a follow-up to Motorola’s slimline flagship. Though with the ‘27’ suggesting 2027 and the original launching in January 2026, no one was expecting it until, well, next year.
For whatever reason, Motorola has brought it forward, or perhaps it will be announced but not go on sale until the new year – but that would be a rather strange gap.
Update: Motorola has teased the phone again, showing the camera module and under-surface speakers by Bang & Olufsen.

With the wording “There’s more to discover with Motorola and Snapdragon” along with the #SnapdragonSummit hashtag, it’s clear that it will be powered by a Qualcomm chip, which model is the question.
Its predecessor had the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, so I assume it will also be high-end.
Spot the details
Elsewhere, the teaser trailer reveals a number of different things about the Signature 27, starting with my feeling that yesterday’s teaser was hinting at materials as well as possibly a telephoto camera upgrade.
Now, Motorola says “Every material. Obsessed. Every detail. Considered.” as well as “crafted without compromise”.
We can briefly see someone marking a line on some green fabric and the video confirms the Signature 27 will come in two Pantone colours: Coal Smoke (19-3914 TCX) and Capulet Olive (18-0426 TCX).

Motorola
TCX Pantone stands for ‘Textile Cotton eXtended’ where the dye is printed onto cotton fabric. It’s the standard format for colour in textiles and fashion, so it will be interesting to see what Motorola has done here, especially in a sea of samey glass rivals.
Pause the video at the right moment, and light bouncing off the camera module reveals the phone will come with a 200Mp camera and Dolby Vision support. The previous model had a triple 50Mp camera array, so this is an upgrade.
We’ll have final details on Motorola’s iPhone Air 2 and rumoured Galaxy S27 Edge rival – which this time around will get a US launch – in a matter of hours, so stay tuned.
