iPad Mini could finally get its OLED glow-up this month
Apple will reportedly launch a new iPad Mini with an OLED display later this month.
Following on from its big iPhone 18 Pro launch, most of the Apple-related news of late has concerned the company’s smart home plans. Expect a new Apple TV 4K and a bunch of LG-branded smart home gadgets to be launched later today.
However, the company is expected to hold a second launch event later in October, in which it will introduce new Mac and iPad products.
As Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports, the new MacBook Pro with an OLED touchscreen will likely hoover up all the attention, but another noteworthy addition will be an iPad Mini refresh.

What to expect from the new iPad Mini
It’s been two years since we last received a new iPad Mini tablet. We found it to be “the best small tablet” on the market at the time, and that remains the case in 2026.
One thing that would improve this excellent product further is the provision of a vibrant OLED display, and that’s precisely what Apple looks set to do.
According to the report, this new model will be considerably more expensive than the current LCD model, which starts at £599 / $599. We could be looking around the £799 / $799 mark.
This new model should run on the A20 Pro chip that recently debuted on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo, and could also feature a front camera that’s repositioned to the long edge, which makes much more sense for FaceTime calls. There could also be an overhauled speaker system.
Gurman reckons that this second Mac and iPad-focused Apple event will take place on or around 27 October, though it’s not yet certain whether there’ll be an in-person element to accompany the online presentation.
Either way, Apple is having a very busy couple of months as it looks to regain tablet supremacy once again.
